Obituary:  The Charlottetown Guardian (PEI), 17 December 1943:  The funeral of Joseph Peters who died at his home at Rustico on December 14 was held at St. Augustine's Church yesterday morning.  A large congregation assisted at the solemn requiem mass which was celebrated by his son, Rev. Clarence Peters, parish priest of Rustico, assisted by Rev. Douglas McNeill, parish priest of Stella Maris Church, North Rustico as deacon and Rev. Earl Dalton, parish priest of St. Ann's Church, Hope River as sub-deacon.  Rev. George McDonald of St. Dunstan's University acted as master of ceremonies while Rev. John Sullivan, also of St. Dunstan's University was thurifer.  His Excellency Right Rev. J. A. O'Sullivan, who was present in the Sanctuary and gave final absolution, was assisted by Rev. Francis McQuaid, bursar of St. Dunstan's University and Rev. Wilfred McCardle, chancellor of the diocese.  The Rev. Dr. Gillis and the Rev. George Herrell, both of Charlottetown assisted the choir.  The pallbearers were: Mathurin Doucette, Amos Gallant, Frederick Toombs, Granville Buntain, Edward Gallant and Benoit Martin.

 

Obituaries for the children:

Wilfred Allison Pitre:  Ventura County Star (Ventura, CA), Thursday, 26 May 1988:  Wilfred Alison 'Pete' Peters, 89, Ventura, died Tuesday in a Ventura hospital after a short illness.  Mr. Peters was born Oct. 26, 1898, in North Rustico, Prince Edward Island, Canada.  He was an eight-year county resident, coming from Los Angeles.  He was president of Inglewood Steel Treating Co. before his retirement, having been in the steel-treating business for more than 35 years.  He was a member of the Inglewood Elks Lodge and Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.  He is survived by son Roger of Ventura; sisters Freda Peters, Alice Dorecette and Edna Pitre, all of Prince Edward Island; grandson David Peters of Ventura; and granddaughter Rebecca Peters of Tokyo.  Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Ventura.  Private inurnment will be at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park.  Arrangements are under the direction of Charles Carroll Funeral Home in Ventura.

Chapel.  Leaving chapel 8:30 a.m. MOnday for Requiem Mass at 9:00 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  Interment Mount Hope Cemetery.
