Obituary:  The Windsor star (Windsor, ON), Tuesday, 16 June 1936:  Mrs. Patronille Pitre, 83, Lifelong Resident of District:  Mrs. Patronille Pitre, 83-year-old resident of Stoney Point, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hector Lanou, last night after a lengthy illness.  Mrs. Pitre was born in Sandwich East Township and has lived in the Windsor district all her life.  She was a member of the St. Anne Society and the Catholic Women's League.  She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Pierre Langlois, pioneers of the Stoney Point area.  Surviving are three sons, Rev. G. P. Pitre, pastor of St. Anne's Church, Tecumseh; Alphonse, of the Golden House, Tecumseh, and Raymond, an officer in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, stationed at Montreal; one daughter, Mrs. Lanou; and thirteen grandchildren, one of whom is Sister Gilbert of the Ursaline Academy, Tilbury.  Funeral services will be held Thursday from the home of Father Pitre, Tecumseh.  Thursday morning at 9 o'clock, to St. Anne's Church at 9:30.  Interment will be in St. Anne's Cemetery.

Obituaries for the children:

Marguerite Clare Pitre:  The Windsor Star) (ONT), Monday, 22 March 1909:  Margaret Rivard, aged twenty-six years, died of tuberculosis in her home at the corner of Pilette and Tecumseh roads.  Deceased was the daughter of the late Pierre Peters and besides her husband, Edward Rivard, is survived by three children, her mother, three brothers and one sister.  The funeral will be held on Wednesday morning at 9:30 o'clock from Our Lady of the Lake to St. Anne's church cemetery, Tecumseh.

- The Windsor Star (Ont), Friday, 6 March 1908:  Tecumseh - Gilbert Pitre, a student at Assumption college, Sandwich, attended the funeral of his uncle, Dolphis Langlois.

- The Windsor Star (Ont), Thursday, 1 October 1908:  Gilbert Pitre and Jos. Baillargeon left on Thursday last for Montreal to attend the grand seminary in order to finish their studies for the priesthood.

- The Windsor Star (Ont), Friday, 22 September 1911:  Tecumseh – Gilbert Pitre and Jos. Boillargeon left on Tuesday for the seminary in Montreal.

- The Windsor Star (Ont), Friday, 29 December 1911:  Tecumseh – Last Sunday Rev. Fr. G. Pitre, who was ordained priest last Saturday morning in the London Cathedral, sang his first mass here and in the afternoon a reception was held in the St. Jean Baptiste Hall.  An address was read by Alphonse Morand, and Thomas Leboeuf in the name of the parish presented him with a well filled purse.  Rev. Fr. Pitre in a few well chosen words thanked his many friends for the reception held in his honor.  D. Rochleau presided, Miss Prince rendered several pieces of music, and a quartette composed of E. Thibert, C. Letourmann, A. Laforet and Alph. Rochleau gave several songs, after which the people separated having enjoyed themselves and all wishing the new priest a long and happy life.

- The Windsor Star (Ont), Thursday, 5 November 1959:  100th Anniversary of founding of St. Anne's RC Church established in Tecumseh:  Most accomplishments in the parish were during the term of Rt. Rev. Gilbert Pitre, the first Tecumseh native son to become a priest.  He served from 1933 until his death in 1958 and during that time he founded St. Anne's High School, formed the mission of Our Lady of Fatima in east Riverside, guided the construction of St. Anthony's and St. Pius X Separate Schools, and organized the drive to build St. Gilbert Hall.  During World War II, the rectory, built shortly after the original church was built, was damaged by fire.  He organized a drive for funds to rebuild and renovate it.

Francois Hercule 'Arthur' Pitre:  Misc.:  The Windsor Star (Ont), Thursday, 28 July 1904:  Mr. Arthur Pitre, son of Peter Pitre, painter, is very low at present.

 

Marie Seraphine Pitre:  The Windsor Star (Ont), Saturday, 18 April 1908:  Miss Saraphine Pitre, aged nineteen, daughter of the late Pierre Pitre, of Tecumseh, died Friday of tuberculosis.  The funeral will take place at Tecumseh at 9 a.m. Monday morning.  A mother, three brothers and one sister survive.

- Detroit Free Press, Sunday, 19 April 1908:  Miss Seraphine Pitre, 19 years old, is dead at the home of her mother in Tecumseh.

- The Windsor Star (Ont), Saturday, 25 April 1908:  The funeral of Miss Seraphine Pitre took place on Monday and a great number of her friends followed the remains to their last resting place.  She was the fourth that had died in the same family in three years – two brothers and the father.

Joseph Alexandre Remond Pitre:  The Windsor Star (Windsor, ONT), Friday, 14 February 1992:  Pitre - Raymond, 97 yrs., passed away on Feb. 14, 1992 at the Sunparlour Home for Senior Citizens.  Formerly of Tecumseh.  Husband of the late Marianne (nee Desmarais).  Predeceased by his brothers Alphonse and Monseigneur Gilbert Pitre and by his sister Lottie Lanoue.  Several nieces and nephews survive.  Visiting Fri. from 7-9 p.m.  Funeral Saturday 11 a.m. from Melady Funeral Home and Chapel, Belle River to St. Simon and Jude Church at 11:30 a.m.  Prayers Fri. 8 p.m.
