Obituary: St. Landry Clarion (Opelousas, LA), Saturday, 2 March 1907: Pitre - At his residence, 4 miles west of Opelousas, on Thursday night February 21, 1907, at 6:45 o'clock, Willie Pitre, aged 30 years, 5 months and 3 days. Mr. Pitre was a substantial and well-to-do citizen of that section, and his death is much regretted by his many friends and a hard blow to his family. He died of pneumonia, coming on as he was recovering from a severe spell of typhoid fever. The remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery at Opelousas on Friday evening at 4:30, after the obsequies were held in the Catholic church.

Henry Nole Pitre: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 30 June 1985: Funeral services will be held for Mr. Henry Pitre, 83, of Opelousas, at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Burial will be at Bellevue Cemetery. Mr. Pitre died at 8:17 a.m. Saturday at his residence. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leslie Pitre, Opelousas; two sons, Henry N. Pitre Jr., Starkville, Miss.; and Robert L. Pitre, Baton Rouge; two daughters, Diana Pitre Savoy, Lafayette, and Jackie Pitre Conque, Baton Rouge; two sisters, Norma Pitre Guidry, Port Arthur, Texas and Mrs. Roland Pitre Chachere, Opelousas; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Ardoin's Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.

Sadie Louise Pitre: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Monday, 6 July 1992: Funeral service time for Mrs. Roland (Sadie) Chachere, 84, will be held Tuesday, time pending, in St. Landry Catholic Church with burial following in Bellevue Memorial Park. Mrs. Chachere died Sunday at 10:40 p.m. at Opelousas General Hospital. Survivors include: five daughters, Mrs. Frank (Rose Mary) Rao of Opelousas, Mrs. W.J. (Vonceil) Trahan of Kingman, Ariz., Mrs. John (Norma Lee) Dupre of Port Barre, Mrs. Cody (Wilda) Dupre of Opelousas, Mrs. D.W. (Bud) Quirk of Washington; one sister, Norma Guidry of Beaumont, Texas; 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held until 9 p.m. tonight and from 8 a.m. until time of services Tuesday.
