Obituary:  Evening Express (Portland, ME), Tuesday, 21 December 1976:  Phillip J. Peters, 65, of 633 Congress St., formerly of Pittsburgh, Pa., died unexpectedly Monday at a local hospital.  He was born July 16, 1911, in Skowhegan, and attended the schools there.  He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the tank corps in the European Theater.  He later was employed with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad System for more than 15 years.  Mr. Peters retired in 1961 due to ill health.  He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, a life member of South Portland VFW Post and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.  He leaves his wife, the former Carolyn E. Pulan.  Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at 749 Congress St., followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church.  Interment will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
