Obituary:  Clarion News (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 5 September 1929:  Lastie Pitre, 31, was buried Tuesday morning at Lawtell following his death in western Opelousas Tuesday.  He is survived by his wife and three children.

Obituary:  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Sunday, 14 October 1990:  Opelousas - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for Lucinda Carroll Pitre, 90, who died at 7 a.m. Saturday in an Opelousas hospital.  Burial will be at St. Brigette Cemetery in Lawtell.  Survivors include a son, Mark A. Pitre of Opelousas; two daughters, Frankie P. Domingue and Marjorie P. Nolan of Opelousas; a sister, Mrs. Burton Helton of Opelousas; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.  Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to service time Monday.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday.  Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.

Mark Anthony Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Monday, 13 April 1998:  Funeral services for Mr. Mark "Pete" Anthony Pitre Sr., 78, will be held (time pending) Tuesday in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park.  The Rev. Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the services.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Opelousas, died at 4:10 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 1998, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.  He was a retired Exxon employee and a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Marines.  Survivors include: his wife, Betty French Pitre of Opelousas; two sons, David Pitre of Baton Rouge and Mark Pitre Jr. of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two daughters, Susan Pitre of Lafayette and Linda Mikovitz of Valdosta, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Frankie Domingue of Lafayette and Mrs. Marjorie Nolan of Opelousas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  Mr. Pitre was preceded in death by a grandson, Douglas Roberts; and his parents, Lastie and Lucinda Carroll Pitre.  Pallbearers will be David Pitre, Mark Pitre Jr., Mike Mikovitz, Greg Rabalais, Ed Domingue, Robert Nolan, Kevin Roberts and Peter Mikovitz.  Visiting hours will be observed from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.  Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on the Old Sunset Road in Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.

 

Frankie Bell Pitre:  Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Tuesday, 20 October 2014:  (photo included) Opelousas - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Frankie Pitre Domingue will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas.  Msgr. Paul Metrejean will celebrate the Mass.  Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.  Mrs. Domingue passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014, at Avalon Place in Monroe, LA, at the age of 93.  She was a longtime resident of Opelousas and resided in Lafayette prior to moving to Monroe.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.  She was a homemaker and seamstress.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a past member of the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Ladies' Altar Society of Opelousas.  Survivors include her son, Edwin Domingue, Jr. and wife, Mary of Lafayette; her daughter, Shirley Metrejean and husband, Larry of Monroe; five grandchildren, Larry Metrejean, Jr., Eddie Metrejean, Chris Metrejean, Stephanie Touchet, and Jennifer Arnaud; and ten great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Lorrie, Steven, Daniel, Emily, and Will Metrejean; Caroline Metrejean, Seth Domingue, Katie Touchet, and Arik Arnaud.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin P. "Doc" Domingue, Sr.; sister, Marjorie Nolan; brother, Mark A. Pitre; and her parents, Lastie Pitre and Lucinda Carroll Pitre.  Pallbearers will be Larry Metrejean, Eddie Metrejean, Chris Metrejean, Daniel Metrejean, Steven Metrejean, and Seth Domingue.  Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m..  On Wednesday, the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.  A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home. 

 

Marjorie Claire Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 26 June 2001:  Funeral services for Mrs. Joe Nolan, the former Marjorie Pitre, 77, were held at 1 p.m. Sunday in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park.  The Rev. Robert Courville of Krotz Springs conducted the services.  Mrs. Nolan died at 9 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2001, in Doctors' Hospital of Opelousas.  Survivors include: a son, Raymond "Ray" Nolan of Port Barre; a daughter, Mrs. Lonnie (Peggy) Domingue of Lafayette; a sister, Mrs. E.P. (Frankie) Domingue of Lafayette; and eight grandchildren.  Mrs. Nolan was preceded in death by: her husband, Joseph Nolan; her parents, Lastie and Lucinda Carroll Pitre; a brother, Mark Anthony Pitre; a son, Robert Nolan; and a daughter, Mary Nolan Mayers.  Visiting hours were observed from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. Sunday until time of services.  A rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m.  Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on the Old Sunset Highway in Opelousas was in charge of the arrangements.
