Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Monday, 13 April 1998:  Funeral services for Mr. Mark "Pete" Anthony Pitre Sr., 78, will be held (time pending) Tuesday in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park.  The Rev. Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the services.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Opelousas, died at 4:10 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 1998, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.  He was a retired Exxon employee and a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Marines.  Survivors include: his wife, Betty French Pitre of Opelousas; two sons, David Pitre of Baton Rouge and Mark Pitre Jr. of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two daughters, Susan Pitre of Lafayette and Linda Mikovitz of Valdosta, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Frankie Domingue of Lafayette and Mrs. Marjorie Nolan of Opelousas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  Mr. Pitre was preceded in death by a grandson, Douglas Roberts; and his parents, Lastie and Lucinda Carroll Pitre.  Pallbearers will be David Pitre, Mark Pitre Jr., Mike Mikovitz, Greg Rabalais, Ed Domingue, Robert Nolan, Kevin Roberts and Peter Mikovitz.  Visiting hours will be observed from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.  Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on the Old Sunset Road in Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 29 November 2009:  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Betty French Pitre, age 86, on Monday, November 30, 2009, at 1:00 pm at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas.  Fr. Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the services.  Interment will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park.  Mrs. Pitre, a resident of Opelousas, died Saturday November 28, 2009, at 5:20 am at Opelousas General Hospital.  She was a Marine Corps Veteran of WWW II.  Survivors include her daughters, Susan Pitre Rabalais and husband Greg of Scott, LA, and Linda Pitre Mikovitz and husband Mike of Valdosta, GA., sons, David Pitre and wife Judy of Lafayette, LA, and Mark Pitre, Jr., and wife Ann of Soddy Daisy TN; a special niece, Peggy Domingue of Lafayette, LA, brothers Kenneth French of Decatur, IL., and Lee French of Bonita Springs, FL., 7 grandchildren, Lori Romero and husband Warren, Peter Mikovitz and wife Tricia, Colleen Mikovitz, Kevin Roberts and wife Michelle, Rebecca Todd Pitre, Mark Pitre, III, and Katie Pitre; 9 great-grandchildren and a special neighbor, Lynn Faul.  Preceded in death by her parents, Orion French and Susie English French; her husband Mark A. Pitre, Sr.; and a grandson Douglas Roberts.  Visitation will be Sunday, November 29, 2009, at 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 8:00 am until time of services.  A rosary will recited on Sunday at 7:00 pm.  Lafond - Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of the arrangements.  The family asks that donations be made to Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas.

Linda Gayle Pitre:  Valdosta Daily Times, Tuesday, 21 February 2023:  Linda Pitre Mikovitz passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 in Yorktown, VA.  She was born in 1947 in Opelousas, LA to Mark Anthony Pitre Sr. and Betty French Pitre.  After marriage, Linda accompanied her husband to various military bases and retired in Valdosta, Georgia.  After 30 years, they moved to the Newport News/Yorktown area.  Linda is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Mike C. Mikovitz, Jr.; her son, Jon Peter (Patricia) and her daughter, Jennifer Colleen Mikovitz (Maureen Mathews), her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jon, Dian, and Stephanie Mikovitz; her sister, Susan Rabalasis (Greg); brothers, Dr. David Pitre (Judith) and Mark Anthony Pitre, Jr. (Ann); brother-in-law, Donald C. Mikovitz (Lee Pheather) and her sister-in-law, Sandra Bohon; and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church with a Memorial Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Inurnment will take place at 1:00 p.m. at St. Jerome Catholic Church Columbarium.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in Tabb, VA, Sentara Hospice Services, or Hospice House in Williamsburg, VA.  Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
