Obituaries for the children:

Joseph Pitre:  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Sunday, 1 March 1953:  Ville Platte, March 1 - Funeral services were held here Friday for Joseph L. 'Bebe' Pitre, age 77 of Ville Platte, who died late Thursday afternoon.  Services were at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Msgr. J. M. Bourgeois officiating.  Interment was in the adjacent cemetery.  He is survived by four sons, J. A., Carlton, J. B. and Luke, all of Ville Platte; four daughters, Mrs. Darius Ardoin, Mrs. Orise Foret, Mrs. Moise Ortego and Mrs. Luke Ardoin, all of Ville Platte; one brother, Willie, of Ville Platte; and four sisters, Mrs. Artemon Guillory, Mrs. Ellie Ardoin, Mrs. Odin Ardoin and Mrs. Alfred Ardoin all of Ville Platte.  Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

 

William Pitre:  The Bunkie Record (Bunkie, LA), Friday, 20 August 1954: Fine Citizen Died Alexandria Friday is Buried Saturday - Willie Pitre, age 75, died in an Alexandria hospital on Friday, August 13, having been a patient there for several days.  Mr. Pitre had not been in good health for a number of years, and had been a patient at Floyd's Nursing Home, in Pineville, for two years, and had been in the hospital a number of times just prior to his death.  Deceased was born in Opelousas, and had lived in this area his entire life.  Three years ago he retired from an oil company and moved to Washington, La.  He had never made his home in Bunkie, but has visited his children here on many occasions.  Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon, August 14, at 2:30 o'clock from St. Anthony Catholic church, with Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. E. Howard officiating.  Interment was in the Pythian Cemetery under direction of Hixson Bros. Funeral Home, of Bunkie.  Survivors include one son, Murray Pitre, of Cheneyville; three daughters, Miss Odette Pitre, Mrs. J. L. Stanley, and Mrs. Armosa Williams, of Bunkie, and five grandchildren.  There are also four sisters, all of whom live in Ville Platte.  Pallbearers were Oscar Burke, Murray Pitre, Odell Ardoin, J. F. Stanley and Camille Lacour.

 

Marie Aimee Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 1 October 1961:  Ville Platte - Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Friday for Mrs. Odin Ardoin, the former Amy Pitre, who died at her home Thursday.  Mrs. Ardoin is survived by her husband, three sons, Horace and Calvin of Ville Platte and Odrie of Port Arthur; three daughters, Mrs. Louis Fontenot, Mrs. V. L. Manuel, both of Ville Platte, and Mrs. Tillman Sylvester of Highlands, Tex., 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Alfred Ardoin of Ville Platte.  Interment was in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery with Ardoin Funeral Home in charge.
