Louis Joseph Laurent Pitre: (photo) Louis Joseph Pitre, 85, a native and resident of Grand Caillou, died at 7:44 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 1992. Visitation is from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, and 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Dulac, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by three sons, Bennett and Louis Paul Pitre of Grand Caillou, and Kenneth Scott Pitre of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Mrs. Normand (Melva) Smith and Mrs. Wilton (Bernadine) LeBoeuf, both of Chauvin; 22 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Emily Marie Scott Pitre; his parents, Louis and Angelie Carrere Pitre; one daughter, Mrs. Margie Thibodeaux; four brothers, Dominick, Elie 'Pete', and Cyrus 'Herbert' Pitre, and Anthony Lodrigue; five sisters, Feleice LeCompte, Agnes Pierron, Nerlie Chauvin, Beulah Trahan and Mae Pierron; and one granddaughter, Bethany T. McNamara. He was a parishoner of Holy Family Catholic Church.
