Obituary:  The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Friday, 6 July 1945:  Leon Pitre, aged 52 years, 412 Sanders St., Pineville, La. died at the Veterans Hospital, Alexandria, July 1, 1945 at 3:30 p.m. following a two years illness.  Besides his wife, Mrs. Emily G. Pitre, Pineville, he is survived by three sons, Alvin L., stationed in England; Paul T. stationed in Germany; Leon Jr., Pineville; one daughter, Mary Lou also of Pineville; three brothers, Ferdinand, Martin and Edgar all of Opelousas; one sister, Rose Jones also of Opelousas; and two grandchildren.  Funeral services were held in the St. Landry Catholic church of Opelousas with interment in the Catholic Cemetery of Opelousas under the direction of Laboud & Son Funeral Home.  Pallbearers were Ferdinand, Martin and Edgar Pitre and Milburn Ezra and Dallas Guillory.

Obituary:  The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Monday, 30 April 1979:  Emily Pitre, 78, of Pineville died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday in a Pineville hospital.  Survivors include three sons, Alvin L. Pitre of Alexandria, Talman P. Pitre of Opelousas and Leon Pitre of New Orleans; one daughter, Mrs. C.F. Franchebois of Hessmer; two brothers, Melvin Guillory of Opelousas and Dallas Guillory of Prospect Community; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Services will be Tuesday in Opelousas.

Alvin Luther Pitre:  Houston:  Funeral services for Master Sgt. Alvin Luther Pitre Sr., 80, will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive in Houston, Texas, with burial at the Houston National Cemetery.  Mr. Pitre died in Houston, Texas, on Friday, Sept. 3, 1999.  Mr. Pitre was born in Plaisance and was a veteran of WWII (10th Station Hospital) and the Korean War (25th Infantry Division).  During his 24 years of service, he received numerous commendations and medals such as the Combat Medical Badge and the Korean Service Medal with four bronze stars.  Upon retirement from the service, he worked for Cotton Brothers' Bakery in Alexandria for 19 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Pitre and Emily Guillory Pitre, his brothers Paul and Leon and his sister Mary.  Survivors include: his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Emily McAlorum Pitre of Bangor, Northern Ireland; one son, Alvin Pitre Jr. and daughter-in-law, Sue M. Pitre; his granddaughter Sarah E. Pitre; three daughters, Margaret E. Pitre and Cathy Bartolomeo and his son-in-law, Marc Bartolomeo; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Pitre of Opelousas and Joan Pitre of Gretna and a brother-in-law Creighton Francheobois of Hessmer.  Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.  Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society or Sisters of Charity St. Joseph Hospice of Houston.  Miller Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of the arrangements.

Paul Talman Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 14 September 1997:  Funeral services for Mr. Paul Talmen Pitre, 76, will be held at (time pending) Monday afternoon in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas.  Burial will be in the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum in Opelousas.  Mr. Pitre, a native of Grand Prairie and resident of Opelousas, died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 1997, in Opelousas General Hospital.  She (sic He) was a retired mechanic at Bordelon Motors in Opelousas and a veteran of World War II.  Survivors include his wife, Ruby T. Pitre of Opelousas; two daughters, Ruby Morris and a son-in-law, Charles Morris of Port Barre, and Charlotte Pitre of Opelousas; a brother, Alvin Pitre of Clear Lake City, Texas; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  Mr. Pitre was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Pitre Jr.; a grandchild, Todd Doucet; and a sister, Mary Franchebois.  Visitation will be held from 12:15 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and will reopen at 8 a.m. until the time of services Monday.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday.  Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Lou Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 22 July 1984:  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Landry Roman Catholic Church for Mrs. Creighton Franchebois, 61, the former Mary Lou Pitre, of Hessmer.  She died at 5 p.m. Friday at the Colonial Nursing Home in Marksville.  Survivors include: by her husband of Hessmer; two brothers, Alvin Pitre of Lafayette and Paul Pitre of Opelousas.  A rosary was held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and will be repeated today at 7:30 p.m. at the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home, old Sunset Highway.

Leon Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 8 November 1981:  Leon (Pete) Pitre Jr. of Gretna, La., on Saturday, November 7, 1981 at 12:25 p.m., beloved husband of Mrs. Joan Dunne Pitre, father of Chimene, Michelle and David Pitre, son of the late Emily Guillory and Leon Pitre Sr., brother of Mrs. Mary Franchebois, Alvin and Paul Pitre, age 47 years, a native of St. Landry Parish, LA and a resident of the Westbank for the past 21 years.  Relatives and friends of the family, also employees of U.S. Postal Service and members of N.C.H.A. and Louisiana Traveling Cajuns are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Homes Inc., 2199 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, November 9, 1981 at 9:00 a.m.  Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.  Parlors will be open Sunday, November 8, 1981 from 6 p.m. until midnight.  Donations to Leukemia American Cancer Society and Masonic Temple Building of New Orleans, LA preferred.
