Misc.: The Windsor Star (Ont), Friday, 24 June 1898: Tecumseh is famous for its charivaris. Two years ago it kept one up for a week, and finally the provincial police had to go out to read the riot act to the roysterers before they would desist. On Tuesday Gerome Pitre, aged seventy, made a third matrimonial venture by wedding Mrs. Renaud of Sandwich, a maiden of fifty, and the boys turned out with all the noise makers they could find, and have since kept up the riot with little intermission. Last evening it was still in full blast, and a continuation of the concert is expected this evening, with an entirely new repertoire. Mr. Pitre has reasoned with the boys but up to the present his "persuasions" have not been effectual.
