MISC:  The Windsor Star (Ont), Friday, 14 August 1908:  Tecumseh – Word was received that Henry Pitre who had spent the last year in Vancouver, B.C., has left for Australia.

- The Windsor Star (Ont), Thursday, 5 November 1908:  Tecumseh – Henry Pitre, who has been away in Vancouver for the last two years, is back and is delighted with his journey.

- The Windsor Star (Ont), Friday, 22 October 1909:  Tecumseh, Oct. 21 – Henry Pitre and Remi Adams returned from the west on Saturday last.  They were delighted with their journey.

 

Obituary:  The Windsor Star (ONT), Monday, 24 January 1966:  Pitre - Henri, 93, of 1353 Pierre Ave., died Sunday in Riverview Hospital after a lengthy illness.  He was born in Tecumseh, and lived in Windsor for 50 years.  Mr. Pitre was a member of Sacred Heart Church.  His wife Edith died in 1956.  Surviving are his son Denis and two grandchildren.  Funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Marcotte Funeral Home, 870 Wyandotte St. E., to Sacred Heart Church at 9:30.  Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

Obituary:  The Windsor Star (Windsor, ONT), Saturday, 22 December 1956:  Pitre - Edith, 75 years, accidentally, Dec. 21, 1956, of 1353 Pierre Ave.  Beloved wife of Henri.  Dear mother of Dennis, of Windsor.  Sister of Amede, Raymond and Edward Sauve, all of Belle River; Mrs. Fred McCann (Edna), of Riverside; Miss Rita Sauve, of Windsor; Mrs. William Ladouceur (Eva), of Detroit, and Mrs. Walter Thiry (Minnie), of St. Clair Shores.  Two grandchildren also survive.  Funeral Monday, Dec. 24, at 8:30 a.m., from Janisse Bros. Funeral Home, to Sacred Heart Church at 9 a.m.  Interment St. Alphonsus Cemetery.  Prayers Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m.

Denis Pitre:  The Windsor Star (Windsor, ON), Monday, 30 March 1992:  Pitre - Denis, 74 years on March 28, 1992.  Late of Windsor.  Beloved husband of Rita (nee Renaud).  Dear father of Anita Himes of Hamilton, Denise and husband Richard Gaudette of Windsor.  Predeceased by his parents Henri and Edith (nee Sauve).  Dear Pepe of Jacqueline, James, Matthew, Adam, Brandon, Nicole, Nadine and Kristen.  Denis was a Ford Motor retiree after 30 years of service, member of Local 200 and Membre pour plusieurs annees de la Societe Franco-Ontarienne d'Histoire a et de la Genealogie.  Visiting Mon. 7-9 p.m., Tues. 2-9 p.m. at the Janisse Brothers Funeral Home & Chapel.  Funeral Wed. at 9:30 a.m. to St Gabriel's Church at 10:00.  Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery.  Prayers Tues. 8 p.m.  As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society.  A tree will be planted in memory of Denis Pitre in the Janisse Melady Memorial Forest.  A dedication service will be held Sun., Sept. 27, 1992.  All are welcome.
