Misc.:  The Windsor Star (Ont), Thursday, 26 February 1903:  42 Vaccinated - Remi Pitre of Tecumseh has Smallpox - Is Quarantined:  Dr. H.R. Casgrain, of this city, was called to Tecumseh on Tuesday to attend a man by the name of Remi Pitre.  Pitre came to Windsor a week ago Monday and got a load of coal.  Immediately upon his arrival home he was taken ill and gradually grew worse.  On Thursday smallpox broke out and he walked around town that day, Friday and Saturday.  The wonder is that more cases have not been reported.  Forty-two people were vaccinated and the house quarantined.

- The Windsor Star (Ont), Friday, 6 September 1907:  Mrs. Renie Pitre had to undergo a very serious operation on Monday last, at the Hotel Dieu.

- The Windsor Star (Ont), Friday, 29 December 1911:  Tecumseh – On Wednesday at the annual meeting of the school board Remi Pitre was reelected trustee for the next three years.

 

Obituary:  The Windsor Star (Ont), Saturday, 10 December 1932:  Remi Pitre, 76 years old and life-long resident of Sandwich East Township, died yesterday afternoon at his home, 401 Tecumseh road, Tecumseh.  He was a professional gardener and well known.  Surviving are his wife, Margaret Mominie; one son, Royal, at home; and a daughter, Mrs. Wilfred Hebert, of Shawnee road, Tecumseh.  There are six grandchildren.  Mr. Pitre was the brother of Henry Pitre, of Windsor; Mrs. Bemis Rocheleau, Tecumseh; Mrs. William Bellinger, Walkerville; Mrs. Damas Jacques, Detroit, and Mrs. Edward Campeau, Tecumseh.  Funeral services will be held Monday from the home at 9 a.m. to Ste. Anne's Church, Tecumseh, at 9:30 o'clock.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Obituary:  The Windsor Star (Windsor, ON), Saturday, 1 June 1946:  Mrs. Margaret Pitre, 83, of Tecumseh, died yesterday at her home after a brief illness.  She was born in Sandwich East Township.  She is survived by one son, Real; a daughter, Mrs. Wilfred Hebert, Tecumseh; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.  Services will be held Monday from the daughter's residence, 25 Shawnee road, Tecumseh, at 9 a.m., and at 9:30, at St. Anne's Church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
