Obituary:  (photo)  Recently, in the parish church of Ste. Philomene, in Chateauguay, the funeral of Mr. Jules Pitre took place; He had been in business for many years.  Preceded by a carriage of flowers, the funeral procession went to the church where the body was lifted by Father Paiement, the parish priest.  The deceased is survived by his sons: Aubert, Chevalier, Adrien, Albini and Angelbert Pitre; his daughters, Mrs. Ernest Vallee (Aubertine), Mrs. Aldama Pharand (Parmelia), Mrs. Alphonse Dancause (Irene), Gerard Gagnier (Hermose) and Mrs. Conrad Dubuc (Antoinette); his daughters-in-law Mrs. Aubert, Mrs. Chevalier, Mrs. Lorenzo and Mrs. Angelbert Pitre; his sons-in-law, Ernest Vallee, Aldama Pharand, Alphonse Dancause, Gerard Gagnier and Conrad Dubuc; his brother, Alphonse Pitre of Fitchburg, Mass.; his sister Mrs. Joseph Primeau and other relatives.

Joseph Alexandre 'Chevalier' Pitre:  Pitre, M. Chevalier, At Ville Mercier, 21 February 1988, died at the age of 92 years, Mr. Chevalier Pitre, husband of the late Belma Pitre.  He is survived by his children: Georgette (Roger Perrault), Gerald (Agathe Dulude), Normand (Laura Page), Gracia (Roger Leduc), Janine (Yves Vinet) as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He also leaves his sisters: Hermoza (Gerard Gagnier), Antoinette (Conrad Dubuc), his brother Ange-Albert, his sister-in-law Agathe Pitre and his brother-in-law Herve Pitre.  Viewing at the funeral home: Mercier.  The funeral will take place Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the parish church of Mercier.  Burial in the same place.

Joseph Antoine Angelbert Pitre:  Pitre, Angelbert.  At Ville Mercier, 31 March 1988, died Angelbert Pitre, at the age of 83 years, husband in first marriage late Aurore Paquette and second marriage late Jeanne Therrien.  Survived by his children: Pauline (Leslie Palmer), Jean-Claude (Pauline Lemieux), Carmen (Fernand Lemieux), Rollande (Simon Yelle), Conrad (Therese Beaudin), also sisters: Armoza (Gerard Gagnier), Antoinette (Conrad Dubuc).  Viewing Friday 7 p.m. at the funeral home: Mercier, Ville Mercier.  Funeral Saturday 2:30 p.m. at the parish church of Ville Mercier.  Burial at the cemetery same place.

 

Marie Amanda Hermine 'Hermoza' Pitre:  Gagnier, Hermoza (nee Pitre), 1908-2006.  Last survivor of her generation, our mother Madame Hermoza Gagnier (nee Pitre) passed away 28 August 2006 at the age of 98 years and 7 months, at CHSLD Champlain of Chateauguay.  She was the beloved wife of the late Gerard Gagnier, of Ste. Martine.  She is survived by her two daughters Danielle (Valleyfield), Denyse and husband Jean-Marie Matteau (Gatineau). Surviving grandchildren: Christian & Chrystelle (Nantes, France), Guillaume & Stephanie (Gatineau), Veronique & Noel (Montreal), Lysandre (Valleyfield and two great-grandchildren Ingrid &Felix Matteau.  Also survived by many nephews and nieces, especially niece Georgette Perrault, cousins and friends.  Having lived a century, our mother will be remembered as a loving mother and wife who was joyful and devoted to others.  There will be no viewing at the funeral home.  The family will receive condolences at the church one hour before the funeral service, which will take place in Ste. Martine church, Ste. Martine, 5 September 2006 at 3 p.m.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Beauharnois Pavilion for the good care given to our mother for eight years and to the Champlain Residential Centre for their assistance and dedication over the past few months. Many thanks to Dr. Pierre Ste. Marie of Ste. Martine and Dr. F. Noel of Tilly.  In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to the Anna Laberge Hospital Foundation in Chaâteaugauy.  Direction: J. M. Marie Anne Antoinette Pauline Pitre:  Montreal Journal (QUE), Tuesday, 14 September 1993:  Dubuc-Pitre, Antoinette. At Mercier, 13 September 1993,at the age of 81 years, died Madame Antoinette Pitre, wife of the late Conrad Dubuc.  She is survived by her children: Gilles (Eliane Martel), Andre (Jill Garneau), Mariette (Michel Lauzon); eight grandchildren and their spouses, four great-grandchildren, sister Madame Hermoza Pitre (Gerard Gagne), several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews and nieces.  In accordance with the wishes of the deceased, her remains will not be exposed.  The family will receive condolences from noon, Wednesday, September 15, at the funeral home: Michel Thériault Inc., Mercier.  The funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m., at Ste. Philomene church and from there to Our Lady of the Snows crematorium. Donations to Cardinal Paul-Emile Leger's charities would be appreciated.
