Marriage:  Fitchburg Sentinel (MA), Wednesday, 6 September 1922:  Chevalier Pitre of Montreal and Miss Belma Pitre 304 Wanoosnoc road, were married at St. Francis di Assisi church today at 9 o'clock by Rev. Fr. Henri Lusignan, who also officiated at the nuptial mass which followed.  They were attended by Alphonse Pitre, father, and Harvey Pitre, brother of the bride.  The bride was a member of the Children of Mary connected with the church and previous to the ceremony was crowned according to the ritual of the society by Miss Christine Pitre, her sister, and Miss Edna Legendre.  Her attendants were Misses Theresa and Lucy Deslisle, Rose Debonville, Bertha Raboin, Elma Ethier and Loreta Gardner.  Music was furnished by the church organist, Miss Margaret Benoit, who played the bridal chorus from "Lohengrin" as the bridal party entered the church and Mendelssohn's wedding march as a recessional.  Vocal selections were given by Mrs. Rene Seney, Mrs. George Fregau, Mrs. William Belliveau and Miss Emma Poirer.  The bride wore a white canton crepe with a veil and carried a magnificent shower bouquet of bridal roses.  The ceremony was attended by a large congregation including many friends and relatives from Pawtucket, Montreal, Woonsocket and other places.  A breakfast was served and a reception held at the home of the bride's parents, 304 Wanoosnoc road, and later Mr. and Mrs. Pitre started on a trip at the conclusion of which they will live in Montreal.  The bride is well known in this city where she has been a milliner for Miss M. J. Spillane while the bridegroom is a merchant in Canada.  The bride had been tendered various showers and received many beautiful presents.

 

Obituary:  At Ville Mercier, 21 February 1988, died at the age of 92 years, Mr. Chevalier Pitre, husband of the late Belma Pitre.  He is survived by his children: Georgette (Roger Perrault), Gerald (Agathe Dulude), Normand (Laura Page), Gracia (Roger Leduc), Janine (Yves Vinet) as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He also leaves his sisters: Hermoza (Gerard Gagnier), Antoinette (Conrad Dubuc), his brother Ange-Albert, his sister-in-law Agathe Pitre and his brother-in-law Herve Pitre.  Viewing at the funeral home: Mercier.  The funeral will take place Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the parish church of Mercier.  Burial in the same place.

Obituary:  Pitre, Belma, At Ville Mercier, 29 July 1987, died Madame Chevalier Pitre, 91 years, nee Belma Pitre, mother of Georgette (Roger Perreault), Gerald (Agathe Dulude), Normand (Laura Page), Gracia (Roger Leduc) and Janine (Yves Vinet).  She is also survived by one brother and one sister, bothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  Viewing at: Residence Funeraire Mercier.  Funeral Friday 31 July at 3 p.m. in the Ville Mercier church.  Burial at same place.  Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society appreciated.

(Mercier, QUE), 17 February 2016:  Georgette Pitre Perreault 1923-2016.  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Georgette Pitre Perreault (late Roger Perreault), which occurred on Thursday, February 11, 2016 following a short illness.  She was 92 years old.  She is survived by her children Lise, Therese (Jean Gendron) and Raymond (Denise Tremblay), her grandsons Philippe (Annick Levesque) and Francis Perreault (Dana Pleskotova).  She is also survived by her sisters Marcelle (late Rene Miron), Gracia (Gilles Landry) and Janine Pitre (late Yves Vinet), her brothers Normand (late Laura Page) and Gerald Pitre (Agathe Dulude).  Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. from Sainte-Philomene Roman Catholic Church, Mercier.  The family will receive expressions of sympathy and condolences at the church starting at 9:30 a.m.
