Helene Jeanne Pitre: The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Tuesday, 29 April 1980: Bathurst - The death of Mrs. Jane Chamberlain, widow of Silas Chamberlain of South Tetagouche, occurred Monday at Chaleur General Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 84. Born at South Tetagouche, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Minnie (Legacy) Pitre. Her husband died in 1958. She is survived by one son, Wilfred, South Tetagouche, with whom she resided; three brothers, Fred, St. Leonard; Simon and Paul, both of South Tetagouche; one sister, Mrs. Abraham Henry (Delia), Mines Road; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The body is resting at Elhatton's funeral home. Funeral mass will be celebrated from St. Mary Magdelene Roman Catholic Church Hall, South Tetagouche, Wednesday at 4 p.m., followed by entombment to await burial in the parish cemetery later.

He was 66. Born in South Tetagouche, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Legacy) Pitre. He retired in 1968 after being employed by the city's public works department for about 18 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Valida Lacroix, and a son Hector, South Tetagouche and a daughter, Lorinda at home. Also surviving are four brothers, Fred, St. Leonard; Simon and Paul, both at home and Edward of Bathurst and two sisters, Mrs. Silas Chamberland (Jane), South Tetagouche and Mrs. Abraham Henry (Delia), Bathurst. The body is resting at Hogan's funeral home in Bathurst. The funeral mass will be celebrated Sunday at 4 p.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Bathurst. Born in South Tetagouche, he was a son of the late Joseph and Marie (Legacy) Pitre, and was a construction worker until retirement. His wife, the former Florence Bernard, died in 1964. He is survived by two sons, Allie of South Tetagouche and Amadase of Montreal; three daughters, Mrs. Paul Imbeault (Ezella), Mrs. Gerard Imbeault (Lillianne) and Mrs. Cyril Fraser (Marina), all of Montreal; a brother, Paul of South Tetagouche; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The body is at Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst. Funeral mass will be celebrated Monday at 2 p.m. at Mary Magdelene Roman Catholic Church, South Tetagouche. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Pitre, 840 Duncan Street was held Tuesday afternoon at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. His death occurred Saturday at his home. He was 64. Born in South Tetagouche, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Legacy) Pitre. He was employed as a truck driver with Bathurst Ready Mix for 23 years and was a Bathurst resident for 18 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Imelda Daigle; two sons, Raymond and Ivan, both of Bathurst; three daughters, Mrs. Norman Hachey (Mary Ellen) Robertville; Mrs. Arthur Nowlan (Rachelle) and Mrs. David MacKenzie (Geraldine), both of Bathurst; three brothers, Napoleon and Simon Pitre, both of South Tetagouche; and Fred Pitre, St. Leonard; two sisters, Mrs. Jane Chamberlain, South Tetagouche and Mrs. Delia Henry, Big River, as well as nine grandchildren. The body rested at Elhatton's Funeral Home in Bathurst. Entombment in the parish receiving vault will be followed by spring interment in the adjoining cemetery on St. Peter Avenue.
