Obituary: Elhatton’s Funeral Home (Bathurst, NB), Bathurst - Mrs. Valida Pitre, of Bathurst, passed away on Sunday (May 2, 2010) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst, at the proud age of 95 ˝ years old. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Doucet) LaCroix. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Joseph J. Pitre and her companion, late Roger Godin. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by: One son: Hector Pitre (Wanda Hannan) of Bathurst, One daughter: Lorinda DeGrace (Alvin) of Beresford, 4 grandchildren; Sonia Taylor, Alain Pitre, Joleen DeGrace, Allison DeGrace, 1 great-grandson; Johnathan Taylor, several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday afternoon (May 5, 2010) at 2 p.m. from Holy Family Church, St. Peter Ave., Bathurst. Donations in memory of Valida may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation or a favorite charity. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.
