Obituary:  Nashua Telegraph (NH), Saturday, 6 June 1953:  Peters - Died in Amherst, Friday, June 5, 1953, John Peters.  Friends may call at the John T. Smith and Son funeral home in Milford from 2-4 and 7-9 on Saturday and Sunday.  High mass of requiem will be celebrated at St. Patrick's church on Monday morning at 9 o'clock.  Interment will be in the family lot at St. Patrick's cemetery in Amherst.

- Nashua Telegraph (NH), Saturday, 6 June 1953:  John Peters - Amherst, June 6 - John Peters died at his home on the Milford rd at Cricket Corner in Amherst Friday after a short illness.  He was born on July 20, 1867, in Rustico, Prince Edward Island, the son of Joseph and Pelogie (Arsenault) Peters.  He came to Amherst from Fitchburg, Mass. and has resided in Amherst for 26 years.  He was a stone mason contractor.  He leaves his wife, Exilda Peters; two sons, Daniel Peters of Wellington and Gilbert Peters of Fitchburg, Mass.  L. Keeley Smith has charge of funeral arrangements.

Obituary:  Nashua Telegraph (NH), Thursday, 10 December 1953:  Mrs. Exelda M. Peters - Amherst, Dec 10 - Mrs. Exelda M. Peters of Cricket Corner, a resident here for the past 26 years, died at a Fitchburg, Mass. hospital Wednesday after a long illness.  Her husband, John Peters, died last June.  She was born Nov. 27, 1878, the daughter of Patrick and Marguerita (Mahar) Boucher, and was a communicant of St. Patrick's church in Milford.  She leaves three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Martin of Windham, Mass; Mrs. Olive Richards and a third sister residing in Canada; two step-sons, Gilbert Peters of Fitchburg and Daniel Peters of Wellington, Mass.  Friends may call at the John T. Smith and Son funeral home in Milford after 5 o'clock today.

Gilbert Joseph Peters:  The Evening Gazette (Worcester, MA), Thursday, 14 December 1978:  Fitchburg - Gilbert J. Peters, 75, of 631 Rollstone Road died yesterday in Burbank Hospital.  He leaves his wife, Leah (LeBlanc) Peters; three daughters, Cecile, wife of Leo Thomas of Fitchburg, Jacqueline Rivard of Ashby, and Claire, wife of Donald Schrock of Townsend; two sons, John J. Peters of Lunenburg, and Donald S. Peters of Newton; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and two nieces.  Born in Fairfield, Maine, he was a son of John and Almenie (Fontaine) Peters, and lived in Fitchburg 60 years.  Mr. Peters was a machine tool rebuilder at Raytheon Corp., retiring 11 years ago.  He was a Navy veteran of World War I.  A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Church.  His body will be donated to Harvard Medical School.  There are no calling hours.  Aubuchon Funeral Home is directing arrangements.  The family requests flowers be omitted and suggests memorial donations may be sent instead to Fitchburg Center for Brain Injured Children.

 

Frederick Peters:  Nashua Telegraph (NH), Tuesday, 27 September 1949:  Frederick R. Peters - Amherst, Sept. 27 -  Frederick R. Peters died suddenly early this morning at his home at Cricket Corner.  He was born in Fairfield, Me, Sept. 25, 1907, son of John and Minnie (Fontaine) Peters and had been a toolmaker at the Abbott Machine shop for the past 16 years.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel L. Peters, and two daughters, Pauline and Elaine, all of Amherst, and three brothers, Daniel Peters of Wilmington, Mass, Gilbert and Raymond Peters of Fitchburg, Mass.  Friends and relatives may call at the John T. Smith and Son funeral home, Milford, after 5 o'clock this evening.
