Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Friday, 8 November 2002:  Elwood J. Pete Sr.  Lincoln - Elwood J. Pete Sr., 87, husband of Madeline (Jipson) Pete, died Nov. 6, 2002, at a Lincoln hospital, after a very brief illness.  He was born in Lincoln, Dec. 24, 1914, the son of Joseph and Catherine (Paradis) Pete.  Elwood served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  He was section foreman for the Maine Central Railroad for many years.  He later worked for Worcester Brothers in Lincoln, until his retirement.  He loved hunting in his younger days.  He adored his family.  In addition to his wife of 61 years, Madeline; he is survived by five children, Elwood Jr., of Florida, Betty Hanegan and Linda Tash, both of Lincoln, Rhonda Dame of New Hampshire and David Pete of Hampden, 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.  The family would like to thank the nurses at Penobscot Valley Hospital for their kindness and loving care.  There will be no funeral or visiting hours.  Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home.

- Bangor Commercial (ME), Thursday, 14 October 1937:  Genevieve E. Pete of Lee from Elwood J. Pete of Lincoln.  Custody of minor child to the mother, father to pay $3 weekly for the child's support.

- Genevieve married Leon S. Howe Jr. on 22 November 1940.

- Obituary: The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Thursday, 6 May 1982:  Genevieve R. Howe.  Lincoln - Genevieve R. Howe, 65, died May 5, 1982, at her residence in Lincoln.  She was born in Lee, Nov. 12, 1916, the daughter of Ray and Ruth (Merrill) Rich.  She was a member of the Pilgrim Daughters of Lincoln, the extension, and Lincoln Congregational Church.  She is survived by her husband, Leon Howe of Lincoln; one son, Frederic Rich Howe of Portland; two daughters, Mrs. Sally Edwards of Lexington, Mass., and Mrs. Carla Lovely of Lincoln; one brother, Raymond Rich of Lincoln; one sister, Mrs. Grace Pete of Lincoln; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday at the Clay, Stevens and Clay Funeral Home, Lincoln, with the Rev. Dr. Walter Cook officiating.  Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.

Obituary:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Saturday, 21 May 2011:  (photo) Madeline E. Pete.  Lincoln - Madeline E. Pete, 85, died May 20, 2011, at a Lincoln hospital.  She was born June 11, 1925, in Lincoln, the daughter of Alfred and Ruby (Brooks) Jipson.  Madeline loved her flowers in the summer, sewing, baking fancy desserts and watching her favorite television shows.  She is survived by five children, Elwood Jr. and his wife, Barbara, Betty and her husband, Sylvester, Linda and her husband, Tom Sr., Rhonda and her husband, Fritz, and David; two sisters, Dora and Shirley; a brother, William; grandchildren, Phillip, Paul, Jason, Sandra, Tom Jr., Roxanne, Elwood III, Nicole and Noelle; and great-grandchildren, Cooper, Caleb, Casey, Hailey, Tom III, Lauren and Chad.  In addition to her husband, Elwood Pete Sr., she was predeceased by a brother, Fred; and three sisters, Lillian, Jemima and Ruby.  At Madeline's request there will be no services.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Colonial Health Care.  Arrangements are with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.

Carla Ruth Pete:  Bangor Daily News (ME), Tuesday, 30 April 2019:  September 16, 1935 - April 29, 2019:  Brewer and Lincoln - Carla Ruth (Howe) Lovely, 83, passed away peacefully April 29, 2019, at a Brewer nursing facility.  She was born September 16, 1935, in Lee, the daughter of Leon S. and Genevieve R. Howe.  Carla graduated from Lee Academy, class of 1953.  She then went on to attend the Aroostook State Teachers College and graduated at the University of Maine, Orono with a bachelor's degree in education.  She married Thurber A. Lovely June 15, 1956.  Carla was a long time teacher at the Winn Elementary School.  In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister, Sally Edwards.  She is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years Thurber; two daughters, Vicki Smith and her husband, Kevin of Lawrence, KS, and Lisa Chambers and her husband, Mark of Brewer, ME; grandchildren, Eric Chambers and his wife, Kate, of Brewer, ME, and Kate Tomasko and her husband, Mathew, of Berlin, CT; great-granddaughter, Molly Joyce Tomasko of Berlin, CT; brother, Fred Howe and his wife, Diane, of Falmouth, ME; special cousin, Jackie Michaud of Lincoln, ME; as well as many nieces and nephews.  The family would like to give heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care the staff provided at Woodlands Senior Living of Brewer.  Friends are welcome to visit with the family 4-6 P.M. Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Lamson Funeral Home, Clay Chapel in Lincoln.  A funeral will be held 11 A.M. Friday, May 3, 2019, at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, Brewer, ME, where a reception will be held following the service.  Interment will be 3 P.M. at the Lincoln Cemetery.  Carla was an animal lover and an avid reader, those who would like to remember Carla in a special way may make gifts in her name to: Lincoln Humane Society, Lincoln, ME or Lincoln Library, Lincoln, ME.
