Elizabeth Irene Petrie:  Courier Post (Camden, NJ), Friday, 18 January 2002:  Jones, Irene E.  Age 90 of Lumberton and formerly of Westhampton, died Tuesday, January 15, 2002 at Virtua Mt. Holly.  She lived most of her life in Massachusetts before moving to New Jersey after the passing of her husband, Chester.  While in Massachusetts, Mrs. Jones was a nurse's aid at the Milford Nursing Home in Milford.  Mrs. Jones was one of the original charter member of the Westhampton Twp. Fire and Emergency Unit Ladies Auxillary.  The former Irene Petrie, Mrs. Jones is survived by son and daughter-in-law Paul and Deanna of Albuquerque, NM; son Kenneth of Glendale, CA, and son Leslie of Maple Shade.  She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Saturday, 8:30-9:30 AM at Lee/Givnish of Mt. Holly.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church.  Burial will be in St, Mary's Cemetery, Milford, MA.  The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Westhampton Fire and Emergency Unit, Westhampton, NJ.

Joseph Eugene Petrie:  MISC - The Evening Gazette (Worcester, MA), Saturday, 18 April 1925:  East Douglas, April 18 - Eugene Petrie, five-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Petrie, Main street, narrowly escaped drowning late yesterday afternoon, when he was playing with a companion on the bank of the river in back of his home and fell in.  The cries of his playmate were heard by Leo Petrie, the boy's brother, who was in the barn nearby.  He rushed to the river and rescued him.  The boy was revived by first-aid treatment given by the brother, who is a member of the Boy Scouts.  He was later taken home, where Dr. John J. Quinn gave further treatment.
