Obituary: The Courier (Houma, LA), Friday, 29 August 1952: Mrs. Maurice Pitre, 76, the former Josephine Lirette, died at her residence in Thibodaux at 8:35 p.m. Saturday, August 23. Funeral services were conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday August 24, from the Thibodaux Funeral home to St. Joseph's church, Thibodaux, with interment in St. Joseph's cemetery. The First National Funeral home of Houma had charge of arrangements. She is survived by her husband, one son, Clarence Pitre, one daughter, Mrs. Orelie Dugurise, Sr., five grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Joseph Clarence Pitre: Houma Courier (LA), Thursday, 11 June 1981: Clarence (Caloon) Pitre, 81, died 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. today at Landry Funeral Home, Thibodaux, resuming 8 a.m. Friday and continuing until funeral time. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with religious services following at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Odette Traigle Prejeant Pitre; two step sons, Roland and Linsly Prejeant; one daughter, Mrs. Elma Pitre Champagne; one step daughter, Elsie Prejean; one sister, Mabel P. Bourg; one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Landry Funeral Home of Thibodaux is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be from 5:30-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. She was the wife of John Bourg; mother of O. J. and Hensley Dugruise, Isabelle Vicknair and Veralbine Martinez. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirdel Dugruise; parents, Josephine Lirette and Morris Pitre; a brother, Clarence Pitre; and one grandchild. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
