Obituary:  Houma Courier (LA), Friday, 22 February 1980:  Reynold Joseph Pitre, 58, a resident of Box 30, Chauvin and a deck hand for LeBoeuf Towing Co., died Thursday.  Visitation is continuing until funeral time at Chauvin Funeral Home.  The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chauvin.  Survivors include his wife, Ena Theriot Pitre; his mother, Elvire Pellegrin Pitre; three sons, Raymond, Dale and Chris Pitre of Chauvin; a daughter, Mrs. Verne (Jane) Hutchinson of Houma; three brothers, Oris Pitre of Theriot, Morris Pitre of Houma, Ackland Pitre of Gonzales, LA; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Daisy) Cunningham of Houma, Mrs. Claude (Mary) Boudreaux of Lafayette; five grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by by his father, Marius Pitre; two daughters, Tammy and Mary Ann Pitre; a sister, Vivian Duplantis; and two grandchildren.  Chauvin Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Raymond John Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA) Raymond "Pete" John Pitre, 68, a native and resident of Chauvin, died at 11:57 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014.  Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday, Jan. 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  A military service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday and a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church cemetery in Chauvin.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sheryl Marie LeCompte Pitre; sons, William "Bill" John Pitre and Brad Michael Pitre and wife, Alexa; daughter, Tonilynn "Gep" Marie Pitre Hebert and fiance, Jason Guy; son-in-law, Tommy Hebert; brother, Chris Joseph Pitre and wife, Patricia "Pat"; sister, Jane "Jennie" Pitre Oblander; grandchildren, Tyler and Alaina Hebert, Reese Bergeron, Brayden, Breland and Raelyn Pitre; and granddaughter, Jalyn Guy, on the way.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Reynold Joseph and Ena Marie Theriot Pitre; son, Michael David Pitre; brother, Dale Phillip Pitre; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Marius Pitre, and Sidney "Pete" and Annie Theriot.  Raymond was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army as an E-5 during the Vietnam War and was awarded two bronze star medals, one of which was for valor.  He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.  He was a retired boat captain and enjoyed fishing and restoring his 1984 El Camino.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.  He was known to his grandchildren as "Pappy".  He will be greatly missed by all.  Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.

 

Jennie 'Jane' M. Pitre:  Samart Funeral Home of Houma (Bayou Blue, LA), Sunday, 23 July 2023:  Jane Marie Oblander, 74, a native of Chauvin, Louisiana and resident of Houma, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023.  She is survived by her daughter, Tina Authement; son, James "Fella" Authement III and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Nikki Ledet, Brittany Authement, Kaci Authement, Jayme (Justin Pitre) Authement, Raini (Justin) Gautreaux, and Shelly (Ross Blanchard) Authement; great-grandchildren, Bryce Ledet, Blaiz Conklin, Karter Verdin, Demi Verdin, Owen Gautreaux, Nora Gautreaux, and Elijah Authement; brother, Chris Pitre (Patricia); and sister-in-law, Sheryl Pitre.  She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth "Petie" Authement; parents, Reynold Pitre and Ena Pitre; brothers, Raymond Pitre Jr. and Dale Pitre; special grandmother, Marie "MeMe" Melancon; and her fur babies, MiMi (cat) and Omaha (service dog).  A visitation will be held in her honor on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, Houma, Louisiana from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 12:00 pm.  Samart Funeral Home of Houma, LLC is in charge of arrangements.

 

Dale Philip Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA)Dale Phillip Pitre, 58, a native and resident of Chauvin, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012.  Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chauvin.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Chauvin.  He is survived by his brother, Raymond Pitre and wife Sheryl; sister, Jennie Pitre; brother, Chris Pitre and wife Patricia "Pat".  Preceded in death by his parents, Reynold and Ena Pitre; three sisters, Tammy Pitre, Mary Ann Pitre and his infant sister; grandparents, Marius and Daisy Pitre; Sidney and Annie Theriot.  In lieu of flowers donations to assist with funeral expenses are preferred.  Samart Funeral Home of Houma, L.L.C. is in charge of arrangements.
