- Times Picayune 16 September 1925 - Wifely Kick Too Much - Lovelace Pitre met the "extreme indifference and coldness" with which he alleged his wife confronted him with fortitude.  But when she "became infuriated and kicked him" because he "attempted to caress his wife, " Pitre concluded, he alleged, that matters had gone far enough and filed suit for divorce in civil district court yesterday.  Mr. and Mrs. Pitre were married in 1900.

Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 23 July 1978:  Mercedes Smith Pitre, on Friday, July 21, 1978, at 2:50 o'clock p.m.; wife of the late Jean L. Pitre, mother of Mrs. F.P. Baylot of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Mrs. H.B. Collins of St. Louis, Missouri, and Robert A. Pitre of Kenner, Louisiana, sister-in-law of Mrs. Leon Smith; daughter of the late Victoria Buras and Robert Smith; also survived by 9 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews, age 93 years.  Relatives and friends of the family, also members of Harahan Lions and Lioness Club, are invited to attend the funeral.  A Requiem Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son, Inc., 3827 Canal St., at North Scott on Monday, July 24, 1978, at 9:30 o'clock a.m.  Interment in Garden of Memories.  Friends may call between 6 and 10 p.m. Sunday.

Beulah Louise Pitre:  Clarion Ledger (Jackson, MS), Thursday, 26 February 1987:  Vicksburg - Mrs. F.P. (Beulah) Baylot, Sr., 83, died Feb. 24, 1987, at the Vicksburg Medical Center.  Services are 2 p.m. today at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Mrs. Baylot was a native of Buras, La., and a longtime resident of Vicksburg.  She is survived by her sons, F.P. "Buddy" Baylot, Jr., and Erwin A. Baylot, both of Vicksburg, James M. Baylot of Pearl and Lawrence Baylot of Severna Park, Md.; brother, Robert Pitre of Kenner, La.; sister, Mrs. Bessie Collins of Corsicana, Texas; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Robert Anthony Pitre:  Times-Picayune (New Orleans), 6 December 2011:  Robert Anthony Pitre, Sr., born August 21, 1915, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011, at age 96.  Beloved husband of Christine Meeks.  Loving father of Charley G. Pitre, Robert A. Pitre, Jr., and Dan E. Pitre.  He is also survived by a host of loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  A native of New Orleans; resident of Kenner for 47 years and a resident of River Ridge for the past 24 years.  Preceded in death by parents: Mercedes Smith and Lovelace Pitre; two sisters: Beulah Baylot and Bessie Collins; and beloved grandson, Charles "Bubba" Pitre.  Devoted member of Harahan and River Ridge Lions Club.  President of Louisiana Lions League for Crippled Children 1983-84.  Recipient of Lions International Foundation Melvin Jones award.  Owner of R. A. Pitre, Sr. Insurance Agency in Kenner and River Ridge, La.  Honorably served his country as a U.S. Army veteran of WW II.  Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Resurrection, Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, 11316 River Road, St. Rose, La., followed by a Graveside Service.  In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Louisiana Lions League for Crippled Children Foundation, P.O.
