Obituary:  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Tuesday, 12 December 1939:  Joseph Pitre, 81, died at the residence of his son Walter Pitre in this city at 6:20 a.m. today.  The deceased is survived by three daughters Mrs. Louis Guilbeau, Mrs. Theodore Dupuis and Mrs. Adam Duplantis, all of Port Arthur, Texas and one son Walter Pitre of this city.  Several grandchildren also survive.  Funeral services will be held at St. Genevieve's Catholic church at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday with interment in the St. John's Catholic cemetery.  The funeral cortege will leave from the Dauterive Funeral Parlors.  Funeral arrangements are in charge of Crouchet and Guchereau with the Dauterive Undertaking Co.

- Beaumont Journal (TX), Wednesday, 13 December 1939:  Lafayette, La., Dec. 13 - Joseph Pitre, 81, died at 6:20 a.m. Tuesday in the home of his son, Walter Pitre.  Services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. with interment in St. John Catholic cemetery.  He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Louis Guilbeau, Mrs. Theodore Dupuis and Mrs. Adam Duplantis, all of Port Arthur, Texas, and his son here.

Obituary:  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Monday, 3 April 1939:  Funeral rites were held Saturday afternoon at St. Genevieve's Catholic church for Mrs. Jos. Pitre.  Right Reverend Monsignor W. J. Teurlings officiated and interment was in St. John's cemetery.  Pallbearers were Walter and Allen Smith, Adam Duplechin, L. Webre, Elinor Pitre and Henry Lagrange.  Funeral arrangements were in charge of Martin and Castille.

Marie Alta Pitre:  Beaumont Journal (TX), Tuesday, 5 October 1948:  Port Arthur, Oct. 5 - Mrs. Alta Guilbeau, 67, mother of Newton Guilbeau of Beaumont, died about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Pete Karnaky, 4230 Ashland drive.  Clayton and Thompson funeral home will make arrangements for services.  Mrs. Guilbeau was born in Breaux Bridge, La.  She lived here since 1913 and belonged to St. Mary's Catholic church.  Also surviving are another son, L.E. Guilbeau of Port Arthur; daughter, Mrs. J.E. Hines of Fort Worth; sisters, Mrs. Callie Sullivan and Mrs. Adam Duplechain, both of Port Arthur; brother, Wallen Pitre of Lafayette, La. and two grandsons.

Joseph Walter Pitre:  Teche News (St. Martinville, LA), Friday, 20 April 1956:  Funeral services were held last Friday at St. Genevieve church in Lafayette for Walter Pitre, who died in a New Orleans hospital Thursday of last week.  Interment was in the St. Genevieve Catholic cemetery in Lafayette.  Survivors include two sons, J.D. Pitre of Beaumont, Texas and Lester A. Pitre of Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Jack Sullivan and Mrs. Adam Duplechien of Port Arthur, Texas and 10 grandchildren.  Mr. Pitre was a native of St. Martin Parish.  He was the son of the late Joseph Pitre and Alicia LaGrange, both natives of St. Martin Parish.  He had lived most of his life in Lafayette and was employed by the City of Lafayette.

Julie Oscalie Pitre:  Beaumont Journal (TX), Monday, 11 April 1966:  Port Arthur - Funeral services for Mrs. Calie Pitre Sullivan, 80, of 241 Third St. were held at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park under direction of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home.  Pallbearers will be Loveless Landry, Dalton Frederick, Darrel Plo-t, J.L. Brown, J.D. Pitre and Paul Robison Jr.  She died at 6:55 p.m. Saturday after a sudden illness.

Marie Aidee Pitre:  Beaumont Journal (TX), Monday, 4 January 1960:  Port Arthur - Mrs. Adam Duplechain, 71, 634 14th, Port Arthur resident since 1920, died at 4:20 a.m. Sunday in Doctor's Hospital at Groves.  She had been ill six months.  Requiem Mass will be sung at 9 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church.  A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home.  Mrs. Duplechain is survived by her husband; daughter, Mrs. Victor Plaia; sons, Charles E. and Antoine E. Castille; sister, Mrs. Calie Sullivan, all of Port Arthur, and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
