[Provided by E. Bresette:  Obituary of Lorraine Wassemiller, 9 July 1924 - 5 April 2006, Born in Tyton, Washington, to Raoul and Ester (Beddoe) Bergevin.   She was raised by her aunt, Antoinette and Uncle Joe in Toppenish, WA.  She married Robert Wassemiller on June 3, 1943.  Her mother died in 1924 when she was 2 months old.  Raoul Bergevin kept the three oldest children at home, but placed the other three, Alma, Alice and Lorraine with relatives.]

Misc.:  Yakima Herald (WA), Wednesday, 27 May 1908:  Building Boom at Wapato - Two Business Blocks and Many Homes under Construction - Wapato, Wash., May 23 - The large brick building of the Wapato Trading company is up one story and will be completed in another month.  The frame store building of Henry Kohls on Wapato avenue is completed and occupied.  The new residences of Loran Groves, A. Paulen and J. Lagambe are also completed.  A.C. Ness and H.A. Grater are building homes.  The Bussell Land company has material on the ground for an office building.

Lorraine Bergevin:  Lorraine Wassemiller, 11 April 2006:  Lorraine Wassemiller passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at her home in Molalla, Ore.  She was 81 years old.  Lorraine was born on July 9, 1924 in Tyton, Wash., to Raoul and Ester Bergevin.  At three weeks old her mother died and she was sent to live with her aunt Antoinette and uncle Joe in Toppenish, Wash.  She lived in the Yakima Valley for nearly 40 years.  She married Robert Wassemiller on June 3, 1943.  Together they moved to Prineville in 1962.  On November 22, 1996, her husband of 53 years passed away.  She moved to Molalla in 2004 to live with and be cared for by her daughter and son-in-law, Mike and Gail Towner.  She lived the last 18 months of her life enjoying time with her children and grandchildren.  Lorraine was an active member of the Eagles, both in Prineville and Toppenish throughout her adult life.  She also enjoyed bowling, gardening, cooking, and was an avid card player.  Lorraine is survived by: her three children, Sandra Nelson of Prineville, Ore., Robert Wassemiller Jr. of Spokane, Wash., and Gail Towner of Molalla, Ore.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter Linda Marvin.  Services will be held at Prineville Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 12, at 2 p.m. with a visitation from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on April 12, at Prineville Funeral Home.  Arrangements are in the care of the Prineville Funeral Home.
