- Thibodeaux Minerva (LA), 17 February 1855:  Succession Sale of Joseph Pitre - farmind utensils consisting of ploughs, spades, hoes, axes, etc., also a horse & horse cart, 2 stacks of rice, etc., etc.  Tract of land in Lafourche parish, on the right bank of Bayou Lafourche about 5 miles below Thibodaux (apprx. 2 arpents front x 40 arpents depth, with all the buildings & improvements thereon.  Reserve is that the Widow Joseph Pitre shall occupy during her lifetime on the upper line of said land, 1 arpent front x 1 1/2 arpent depth, & the buildings on said land now occupied by her.

 

Obituaries for the children:

Marie Melasie Pitre:  The Weekly Thibodaux Sentinel (Thibodaux, LA), Saturday, 10 December 1881:  Mrs. Napoleon Lefort died at Lafourche Crossing on last Wednesday, aged 47 years.  The deceased was an excellent lady, esteemed and honored by all who knew her, she was buried in St. Joseph's cemetery, surrounded by a large concourse of friends who thus testified their sympathy and regret.  [17 December 1881 issue (in French) gives her age as 57 years 2 months.]

Marie Josephine Pitre:  The Lafourche Comet (Thibodaux, LA),  Thursday, 6 May 1897:  Mrs. W. T. Price, nee Josephine Pitre, aged 72 years, died last Tuesday at home at Lafourche Crossing.  Her funeral took place yesterday at 9:30 A.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

- Times Democrat (New Orleans, LA), Thursday, 6 May 1897:  Thibodaux, May 5 - There was buried today in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery Mrs. W. T. Price, nee Josephine Pitre, aged seventy-two years.  The deceased was an estimable lady, born and reared near Lafourche Crossing, and resided the greater part of her life in that vicinity.

Marie Euphemie Pitre:  The Lafourche Comet (Thibodaux, LA), Thursday, 19 October 1899:  Mrs. Amedee Ledet, an esteemed resident of the lower portion of this parish died yesterday morning at 2 o'clock at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 8 days.  Her remains will be brought to Thibodaux this morning at 9 o'clock and interred in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery.  Mrs. Ledet was a native of this parish, where she passed the whole of her long life.  Her maiden name was Marie Euphemie Pitre.  Besides her aged husband, she leaves a daughter and a step-daughter and son to cherish her memory.

 

Marie Victoire Pitre:  The Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Wednesday, 16 March 1881:  Death - Vituni Lefort, 45 years, 229 1/2 St. Claude.
