Obituary:  New Orleans Item (New Orleans, LA), Wednesday, 4 February 1942:  Janvier Pitre, 64, of Little Caillou, was buried in St. Elie cemetery following services at Our Lady of Prompt Succor church, Little Caillou.  He was a prominent farmer of his community.  Surviving are his widow and one son, Felician.

Duplantis, Mrs. Joseph Quebedeaux, Mrs. Thomas Toups, Mrs. John W. Duplantis of Houma, La., Mrs. Oleux Chauvin of New Orleans, La., and Mrs. Ernest Stousslet of Montegut, La.; also survived by two grandchildren; aged 86 years; a native of Terrebonne parish.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral, which will take place on Friday, November 27, 1959, at 9 o'clock a.m., from the Chauvin funeral home, Houma, La.  Religious services at Holy Rosary Catholic church, Houma, La.  Interment in St. Elie cemetery, Little Caillou Route, Houma, La.  Arrangements by Chauvin funeral home.
