Jeweler, dies suddenly - Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church this afternoon for Essie Pitre, 36-year-old Ville Platte jeweler,
who died at a local hospital yesterday as the result of a stroke. Mr.
Pitre had not been previously ill; he died within 24 hours after the initial
attack. His death was totally unexpected and a shock to those who knew
him. Surviving him are his wife, the former Ella Ledoux, and two
children: Milton, 12, and Katie Joan, four years old.
Horace Pitre, his father, also survives him. Burial will be in the
Catholic cemetery. Ardoin Funeral Home, of Ville Platte, will be in charge
of arrangements. [Obit on 3 May 1952 gives name as Eaise Pitre]
