Obituary:  The Ville Platte Gazette (Ville Platte, LA), Thursday, 1 May 1952:  Essie Pitre, 36 year old Jeweler, dies suddenly - Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church this afternoon for Essie Pitre, 36-year-old Ville Platte jeweler, who died at a local hospital yesterday as the result of a stroke.  Mr. Pitre had not been previously ill; he died within 24 hours after the initial attack.  His death was totally unexpected and a shock to those who knew him.  Surviving him are his wife, the former Ella Ledoux, and two children: Milton, 12, and Katie Joan, four years old.  Horace Pitre, his father, also survives him.  Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery.  Ardoin Funeral Home, of Ville Platte, will be in charge of arrangements.  [Obit on 3 May 1952 gives name as Eaise Pitre]

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 8 May 1994:  Mamou - Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Ella Guillory, 79, the former Marie Ella Ledoux, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ann's Catholic Church here with burial in the new church cemetery.  Mrs. Guillory, a resident of Mamou, died at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 1994, at Savoy Care Center after a long illness.  Survivors include: her husband, Mr. Herbert Guillory of Mamou; three sons, Mr. Milton Pitre of Ville Platte, Mr. Ferral Guillory of Lake Charles and Mr. Furman Guillory of Mamou; one daughter, Mrs. Katie Pierrotti of Baton Rouge; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Pitre of Opelousas; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. until the time of services.  Ardoin's Funeral Home in Mamou is in charge of arrangements.

Milton Pitre:  The Town Talk (Alexandria, LA), Friday, 7 January 2000:  Ville Platte - Services for Milton Pitre will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Burial will be in New St. Ann Cemetery, Mamou, under direction of LaVille.  Pitre, 59, of Ville Platte died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, in Tulane Medical Center, New Orleans.  He was the owner of Pitre Jewelry Store.  He was also a musician who played in several bands including, The Swamp Gold Band, Country Diamonds, Southern Drifters and Kyle Veillon and the Flatland Band.  Survivors include his wife, Sherline C. Pitre of Ville Platte; one son, David Scott Pitre of Ville Platte; three daughters, Monica Arnaud of Port Barre, Laura Joubert of Opelousas and Andrea Pitre of Ville Platte; his stepfather, Herbert Guillory; two brothers, Furman Guillory of Mamou and Ferral Guillory of Lake Charles; one sister, Katie Pierrotti of Baton Rouge; and six grandchildren.  A rosary service will begin at 6 p.m. today in the funeral home.  Friends may call from today until time of services Saturday in the funeral home.
