Notes for Dauphine Pitre:

Obituary:  Charlottetown Guardian (PEI), Saturday, 9 July 1949:  In Memoriam - Mrs. Hubert Peters - On Sunday, June 12th, there passed to her eternal reward, Mrs. Hubert Peters, aged 79 years.  Widowed at an early age, Mrs. Peters not only filled the part of both Father and Mother to her six small children, but had cheer and help to offer all in need.  Of a deeply religious nature Mrs. Peters bore four long years of suffering in a truly Christian manner.  To her this world was not a 'lasting City' and as her illness developed, she looked more and more to that Celestial City, towards which her mind and heart had ever yearned.  Fortified by the last rites of Holy Mother Church and surrounded by her dear ones, who had nursed her so tenderly, she died holily as she had lived.  Her funeral took place on Wednesday morning June 15th, from her late residence to St. Dunstan's Basilica where requiem High Mass was celebrated by Rev. Francis MacDonald, who also officiated at the grave.  The pallbearers were Messrs. Peter MacDonald, J. B. Flemming, William Grimes, Charles MacDonald, Peter Pineau and Arthur McQuaid.  She leaves to mourn the passing of a loving and devoted mother, two sons and two daughters, viz: George of St. John, N.B., who came home to attend his Mother's Funeral, Cornelius, Mrs. John Bowlan and Cicily, all of this City.  One daughter, Jean, predeceased her seven years ago.

Obituaries for the children:

Joseph Cornelius Pitre:  Charlottetown Guardian (PEI), Monday, 7 February 1955:  Sudden Death of Mr. J. C. Peters - The death of Joseph Cornelius Peters, 55, assistant caretaker at the Charlottetown Armouries, occurred suddenly at his home 223 Sydney St., on Saturday evening.  He had attended to his official duties as usual on Saturday morning.  A veteran of the First World War, Mr. Peters went overseas in 1917 with reinforcements for the 105th Battalion.  He was discharged on return home in 1919.  Born in Rustico, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Peters, he joined the armed forces on leaving school.  Surviving relatives in addition to his wife, the former Mary O'Brien of Iona are a boy 16 months old and another son from a previous marriage, Earle Peters of Toronto.  A brother George in Saint John, N.B. and two sisters, Mrs. J. J. Bowlan (Rose) and Miss Cecily Peters, both residing in Charlottetown, also survive.  His first wife was the former Cordelia Chaisson.
