Obituary: Telegraph Journal (St. John, NB), Monday, 13 October 1975: George A. Peters, of 17 St. Catherines Street, died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital after a period of failing health. Born in Rustico, P.E.I., he was a son of the late Hubert and Daphine (Peters) Peters, and was a veteran of the First World War, serving overseas in France with the Royal Canadian Regiment, taking up residence in Saint John on his return. He was a bricklayer and mason by trade and in 1974 had received his gold membership card for 50 year membership in the Bricklayer and Masons Union. Besides his wife, the former Stella LeBlanc, he is survived by one son, Walter J., Saint John; one daughter, Hilda, Mrs. Leo Guimond, Springhill, Mass.; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body is resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, from where the funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:40 a.m. to Stella Maris Church for funeral mass at 9 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Josephs Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Obituary: Telegraph Journal (St. John, NB), Saturday, 15 May 1993: Saint John - Stella M. Peters, formerly of 17 St. Catherine St., widow of George Peters, died Friday at St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born at Memramcook, she was a daughter of the late Levain and Seraphin (Dupuis) LeBlanc. She had resided in Saint John since 1919. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League of Stella Maris Parish and the City Market Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by a son, Walter J. of Saint John; a daughter, Hilda Guimond of Three Rivers, Mass.; two sisters, Evelyn Belliveau of Lynn, Mass. and Phillonese Brun of Memramcook; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The body is resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be held on Monday at 9 a.m. at the Stella Maris Church. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home will be today and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Peters occurred on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at Ridgewood Veterans' Wing. Walter passed peacefully with his family present and under the compassionate care of the professional staff at Ridgewood. Son of the late George and Stella (LeBlanc) Peters, Walter was a New Years baby, born on January 1, 1921. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia (Kean) Peters. He is survived by his two children, Patricia (Fred) McGrath, and Gary (Marthe Boissonnault) Peters; his sister, Hilda Guimond; his two grandchildren, Christina and Michael McGrath; his extended family including nieces, nephews, and sisters-in law, Sara (Sally" Cusack and Melissa Riley. Born in Saint John, Walter was a graduate of St. Vincent's Boys High School and was a devoted employee of Irving Oil Limited for nearly 40 years. He enjoyed the Camaraderie of being an active member of the Loyalist City Amateur Radio Club - call sign VE1BRI. Walter served his country in World War II as a member of the Medical Corps and was stationed in Oromocto and England. Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church on Monday morning at twelve o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
Mary Hilda Peters: Three Rivers (MA) - Hilda M. (Peters) Guimond, 93, of Three Rivers passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Baystate Wing Hospital. Born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada on September 5, 1923 she was the daughter of the late George A. and Mary S. (LeBlanc) Peters. Hilda moved to Springfield 64 years ago and spent the last 51 years of her life in Three Rivers. She worked as a waitress for Salvatore's Restaurant for 33 years. Hilda was predeceased by her loving husband, Leo J. Guimond in 1978. She is survived by her five children, Richard Guimond of NY, Peter Guimond of Three Rivers, Nancy Guimond of Quincy, Lawrence Guimond of Dudley, and Brian Guimond of Three Rivers; four grandchildren, Kristina, Carl, Kevin, and Sherry; five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ariana, Devon, Eterniti, and Lexiana; nephew, Gary; and niece, Patty. Along with her husband, Hilda was predeceased by her daughter, Lorraine and her brother, Walter Peters. Funeral services for Hilda will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 starting at 9am at Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by a mass at 10am in Divine Mercy Church. Burial will be held in St. Anne's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2015 from 1-4pm at the funeral home. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to American Diabetes Association, Alexandria, VA.
