Angus Pitre:  Charlottetown Guardian (PEI), Wednesday, 29 April 1953:  In Memoriam - Angus Peters - Residents of Hope River were saddened on Tuesday, March 17th on receiving the news of the passing of Angus Peters.  Although having reached the advanced age of eighty-three, the deceased was in comparatively good health, helping with the lighter chores on the farm until a short time before his death.  Rev. Earl J. Dalton administered the last rites of the Roman Catholic Church of which he was a devoted member.  His long life spent in faithful service to God, loving devotion to his family and charity to all, was a true example of Christian virtue.  His fireside hospitality will ever be remembered by his friends and neighbours and he will be sadly missed in his community, especially by his own family.  There are left to mourn, besides his sorrowing widow, the following sons and daughters: Edna, Sr. St. Ignace Martyr, Stella Maris Convent, North Rustico; Margaret, Mrs. Albert Gaudet, R.I.; Clarence, N.S.; Ida May, Mrs. Edwin Tremblay, Montreal; Francis at home, and Rita, Montreal.  His funeral to St. Ann's Church was largely attended.  Solemn Requiem Mass was celebrated by Rev. Earl J. Dalton, deacon, and subdeacons were Rev. Eric Robin and Rev. Clarence Pitre.  The pallbearers were: Bennett Rogers, Arthur Pineau, Vincent Gallant, Vincent Doiron, Ivan Doiron, and Angus Pineau.  "Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord."

Jerome Pitre:  The Bangor Daily News (Bangor, ME), Wednesday, 20 September 1961:  Jerome J. Peters - Dexter - Jerome J. Peters, 88, died Tuesday morning at a local nursing home.  He was born Sept. 29, 1872 at Rustico, P.E.I., the son of Gilbert and Lucy (Doiron) Peters.  He came to Dexter from North Adams, Mass., about 50 years ago.  Survivors are three sons, Irving of Locust Valley, N.Y., Fred of New Rochelle, N.Y., and Leo Peters of Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Bryson of Oregon and Mrs. Catherine Holmes of Revere, Mass.; 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  A funeral Mass will be said Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church here by the Rev. Napoleon Madore.  Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
