Notes for Francois Villeneuve Pitre:

Francois Villeneuve was one of 6 boys born in a family of 10 children, a fairly common occurrence in the 1800's.  He was about 17 when he married Dorsina Lacasse who was only 15.  They had daughter Scholastique shortly thereafter.  Since, like many other Pitres, I cannot locate this family in the 1870 census, I presume that Dorsina died around that time as there are no other children for this couple.

Francois Villeneuve, now aged about 27, married again in 1876 to 15-year-old Marie Caroline Brown (also sometimes written as Brant or Bramme).  In the 1880 census Francois & Caroline were living with his widowed mother along with Francois' daughter Scholastique now 12, and their own daughter Melina 2.  There are two Browns (Melina & Sosthene) with them, presumably Marie Caroline Brown's siblings, and 2 Pitre cousins.  Sosthene Brown married Scholastique in 1883.

Two more children followed, Octave & Onezime before Francois' early death in 1887 at the age of 37.  Son Onezime was boarding with another family in the 1900 census, so presumably his mother Marie Caroline had also died.
