Benedict Pitre: The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Wednesday, 21 May 1969: Bathurst - The death of Ben Pitre of Bathurst occurred Tuesday afternoon following a heart seizure while he was at Holy Family Church. He was 68. Born in Bathurst he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Jane (Doucet) Pitre. He retired from Consolidated Bathurst Ltd. about four years ago after several years with the company. He was a member of the firm's quarter century club. More recently he was manager of the car wash on Evangeline Drive. Surviving are his wife, the former Eileen Godin; one son, Francis, at home; and one sister, Mrs. John Cody of Armdale, N.S. The body is resting at Hogan's funeral home. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
