Obituary: Detroit Free Press (MI), Sunday, 19 January 1902: Peters - January 18, 1902, entered upon a life that has no ending, Edward W., beloved husband of Gussie Gronwald Peters, and son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Peters, of River Rouge, aged 26 years. Funeral from his late residence, 267 Canfield avenue east, Tuesday, 8:30 a.m., and at Sacred Heart of Jesus church, 9 a.m.

Funeral Saturday 1 p.m. at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 12057 Gratiot Ave. Memorials to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 13560 E. McNichols, would be appreciated.
Leonard Anthony Peters: Lexington Leader (KY), Friday, 14 August 1936: Indiana Man Killed on way to Hanging - Owensboro, Ky., Aug. 14 - Leonard R. Peters, 35, of Evansville, Ind. was killed in an automobile accident near here early today while enroute with his wife and another couple to see the hanging of Rainey Bethea, Negro. Mrs. Carl Pierson of Detroit was cut and bruised on the head but after her injuries had been dressed at the Owensboro City Hospital she left for Evansville with her husband and Mrs. Peters. Miss Pauline Kaelin, night supervisor of the hospital, said the survivors gave her no details of the accident and that she did not know their street addresses. Coroner Delbert Glenn said they would be summoned back here for an inquest.
- Detroit Free Press (MI), Wednesday, 19 August 1936: Leonard Peters - Funeral services for Leonard Peters, former Detroit resident who had been working at the Evansville (Ind.) branch of the Briggs Manufacturing Co. for the last 18 months, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the William H. Cavanagh & Son Parlors, 100 W. Kirby Ave. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Peters was killed Friday when an automobile in which he was riding overturned near Evansville. He formerly lived on Westphalia Ave. in Detroit and was 37 years old. His wife Gertrude and a daughter, Shirley, survive.
