Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 31 October 1985:  Washington - Funeral services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Church for Mr. Emile Pitre, 97, of Opelousas, who died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at Opelousas General Hospital after a lengthy illness.  Burial will be at the Cedar Hills Cemetery, Washington.  Mr. Pitre was a native of Grand Prairie and was a life-long farmer in the Grand Prairie-Washington area.  Survivors include: a step-son, Clifford Hill of Plaucheville; two daughters, Mrs. Emily Bordelon and Mrs. Clarence (Olita) Joubert Sr., both of Opelousas; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Sebastien of Opelousas and Mrs. Edmire Vidrine of Plaisance; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.  The Sibille Funeral of Opelousas is directing.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 14 November 1965:  Washington - Funeral services for Mrs. Emile Pitre, 75, of Washington, will be held at 3 p.m. today at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill cemetery in Washington.  Mrs. Pitre died at 6 a.m. Saturday at her home following an illness of three weeks.  Her body is at Lafond and Son Funeral Home in Washington.  Survivors are her husband, Emile Pitre of Washington; one son, Chief of Police Celin Pitre Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Horace Bordelon of Washington and Mrs. Hillary Dupre of Opelousas; three brothers, John and Remi Ardoin and Eli Ortego all of Ville Platte, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Pitre was the former Armaline Ardoin.

Marcellin Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 22 July 1984:  Washington - Funeral services for Marcelin Pitre, 76, of Washington, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church here with burial to follow at the Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Mr. Pitre died Saturday at 10:50 a.m. at Opelousas General Hospital following a long illness.  Survivors include: his wife, Iris Marie Sebastien Pitre of Washington; five step-sons, Winston Fontenot of Opelousas, Will Ray Fontenot of Lafayette, Gene Fontenot of Baton Rouge, Ryan Fontenot of Carencro, and Bryan Fontenot of Sunset; one daughter, Mrs. Peggy Vidrine of Metairie; his father, Emile Pitre of Opelousas; his sister, Mrs. Emily Bordelon of Opelousas; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  Mr. Pitre was a retired school bus driver and former chief of police of Washington.  A rosary will be held tonight at 7 at the Sibille Funeral Home of Washington.  A wake will begin 10 a.m. this morning.  Sibille Funeral Home of Washington is in charge of arrangements.

Emelie Pitre:  22 January 1998: Washington:  Funeral services for Mrs. Horace Bordelon, the former Emily Pitre, 85, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.  The Rev. Bill Gearheard will conduct the services.  Mrs. Bordelon, a resident of Opelousas, died at noon Wednesday, January 21, 1998, in Opelousas General Hospital.  She was a housewife.  Survivors include: a son, Roland J. Bordelon of Palmer, Alaska; four daughters, Mrs. Leo (Mary Alice) Savoy of Port Barre, Ms. Anna B. Guidroz and Ms. Winnie D. Bordelon, both of Opelousas, and Mrs. Douglas (Brenda) Burdick of Anchorage, Alaska; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Bordelon was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emile (Marceline Ardoin) Pitre; her husband, Horace Bordelon; a brother and a sister.  Visiting hours will be observed from 2 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Friday until time of services.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.  Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on the Old Sunset Highway in Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.

 

Elinor 'Lena' Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Monday, 25 January 1982:  Washington - Funeral services for Mrs. Hillary (Blue) Dupre, 66, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial in the Cedar Hill cemetery.  Mrs. Dupre, the former Lena Pitre, died Monday at 4:40 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.  She is survived by her husband of Washington; her father, Emile Pitre of Opelousas; three sons, Dalvast James Dupre and John Allen Dupre, both of Opelousas and Ronald Joseph Dupre of Washington; a brother, Celean Pitre of Washington; a sister, Mrs. Emily Bordelon of Washington and 10 grandchildren.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.  Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on N. Main is directing.
