Obituary:  Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 12 December 1929:  The funeral services of Elmer Lashomb, who died December 5 in the Alice Hyde hospital in Malone, were held from St. Lawrence R.C. church Saturday morning, Rev. R. A. Hoffman officiating.  Burial was made in the Catholic cemetery.  [contributed by Rick Lambert]

Obituary:  Courier & Freeman (Potsdam, NY), 22 November 1949:  Mrs. Rosemary Lashomb Dies in North Lawrence North Lawrence - Mrs. Rosemary Lashomb was buried recently in St. Lawrence Cemetery after a funeral Mass was offered for her in St. Lawrence Church by the Rev. B. A. O'Connell.  A native of this community, Mrs. Lashomb lived here for most of her 70 years.  She was the widow of Elmer Lashomb, who died in 1929.  Surviving her death on Nov. 8 are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Lockbaum of North Lawrence and Mrs. Roy Dudley of Albany; two sons, Charles Lashomb of Sandy Creek and George Lashomb of Ogdensburg and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Bertha Mary Lashomb:  Sarasota Herald Tribune (Sarasota, FL), Saturday, 24 January 1987:  Manatee - Bertha M. Dudley, 89, 5888 17th St. W., Bradenton, died Thursday (Jan 22, 1987) at home.  She was born in Brasher Falls, N.Y., and came to this area 23 years ago from Albany, N.Y.  She was a real estate broker.  She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and past president Ladies Auxiliary Masters Plumbers in Albany.  Survivors include a daughter, Irene Czech of Delray Beach; a sister, Anne Lockbaum of Bradenton; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  Visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. today, with services to follow, at Bayshore Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Manasota Memorial Park.

Edith A. Lashomb:  Massena Observer (NY), Wednesday 22 Oct 1902:  Funeral services over a child of Mr. And Mrs. Elmer Lashomb were held at the R. C. church on Saturday morning by Rev. Father Saurel officiating.

- Massena Observer (NY), Thursday, 23 October 1902, North Lawrence: A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lashomb, aged four years, was taken suddenly ill Thursday morning and lived but a few hours and died at 10 o'clock a. m. of that day.  Funeral services were held in the R. C. church Saturday at 10 a. m., Rev. A. Saurel officiating.  We are informed that Mr. Lashomb has two more children that are very sick. The family have the sympathy of our village in their sad affliction.

 

unknown Lashomb:  St. Lawrence Republican (NY), Wednesday, 29 October 1902:  Mr. And Mrs. Elmer Lashomb are doubly afflicted.  One week ago last Saturday their little girl was buried, and on last Saturday funeral services of another child were held.  Much sympathy is expressed for them in their bereavement.

 

Charles Elmer Lashomb:  Watertown Daily Times (NY), Wednesday, 9 May 1973: Sandy Creek:  The funeral for Charles E. Lashomb, 70, recently elected mayor of the Village of Sandy Creek and a native of North Lawrence, who died at 6:25 a.m., Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, Watertown will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis Church, Lacona.  Burial will be at Cooperstown.  Friends may call at the O'Brien Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.  He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret Lashomb; a son, Charles, of Honolulu, Hawaii; three daughters, Sr. Margaret Charles, S.S.J., Rochester; Mrs. Kenneth (Helen) Clark, Lacona, and Mrs. Alfred (Betty) Court, Mount Vernon; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Dudley and Mrs. Joseph Lockbaum, both of Florida; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  Born Oct. 30, 1902, at North Lawrence, the son of Elmer and Rose Shatraw Lashomb, he attended North Lawrence Schools and worked at the Sheffield Milk plant as a young man.  On Aug. 31, 1925, he married Margaret R. Kiley of Cooperstown and the couple moved to Watertown where he was an apprentice plumber with the Farrell Plumbing Co.  In 1927, they moved to Sandy Creek and he joined the Stoker Heating and Plumbing Firm, which he bought from Mr. Stoker and operated until his death.  He was also the proprietor of the C.E. Lashomb Hardware Store.  Mr. Lashomb served as a village trustee in the 1930's and was elected mayor of the village last month.  He was a member of St. Francis Church, Lacona, Pulaski Council 5606, Knights of Columbus and was a former member of the Sandy Creek fire department.

Beatrice Lashomb:  Syracuse Herald Journal (NY), Wednesday, 6 June 1945:  In Syracuse, June 5, 1945, Beatrice A. Niles of 314 DeForest Road.  She is survived by her husband, Howard J. Niles; one daughter, Betty Ann, one son, Dean Eugene, her mother, Mrs. Rose LaShomb of North Lawrence, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Dudley of Albany, N.Y., and Mrs. J. Lockbaum of North Lawrence, N.Y.; two brothers, Charles LaShomb of Sandy Creek and George LaShomb of Ogdensburg, N.Y.  Funeral services will take place at the Funeral Chapel of Fairchild & Meech Thursday at 8:45 A.M. and at the Church of Our Lady of the Solace, Salt Springs Road, at 9:340 A.M.  Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.  Friends wishing may call at 500 West Onondaga Street today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M.

 

George Peter Lashomb:  Watertown Daily Times (NY), Wednesday, 9 April 1969:  Ogdensburg - George Peter Lashomb, 62, of 908 Mechanic St., a cook at the St. Lawrence State Hospital, 42 years, died 12:25 p.m. Tuesday in the A. Barton Hepburn Hospital, where he had been a patient two weeks.  Ill since February, he retired April 1.  He was head cook for years at the Letchworth Building.  The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m., at the McClellan Funeral Home and at 10 at St. Mary's Cathedral.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home today and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Rose Lashomb; five children, G. Edward and Mrs. Robert (Dolores) Girard, both of Ogdensburg; Donald M., Rochester; Robert C., Ogdensburg and Rose Anne, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Anne) Lockbaum, North Lawrence and Mrs. Roy (Bertha) Dudley, Bradenton, Fla.; a brother Charles E., Sandy Creek; 16 grandchildren, nephews and nieces.  Mr. Lashomb was born Feb. 14, 1907, at Brasher Falls, son of Elmer and Rose Shatraw Lashomb.  He married Rose McIntyre of Fort William, Ont., on Nov. 18, 1929, at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the late Rev. John A. Cotter officiating.  Mr. Lashomb was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral parish and of the Civil Service Employees' Association.
