Obituary:  Watertown Daily Times (NY), Wednesday, 9 April 1969:  Ogdensburg - George Peter Lashomb, 62, of 908 Mechanic St., a cook at the St. Lawrence State Hospital, 42 years, died 12:25 p.m. Tuesday in the A. Barton Hepburn Hospital, where he had been a patient two weeks.  Ill since February, he retired April 1.  He was head cook for years at the Letchworth Building.  The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m., at the McClellan Funeral Home and at 10 at St. Mary's Cathedral.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home today and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Rose Lashomb; five children, G. Edward and Mrs. Robert (Dolores) Girard, both of Ogdensburg; Donald M., Rochester; Robert C., Ogdensburg and Rose Anne, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Anne) Lockbaum, North Lawrence and Mrs. Roy (Bertha) Dudley, Bradenton, Fla.; a brother Charles E., Sandy Creek; 16 grandchildren, nephews and nieces.  Mr. Lashomb was born Feb. 14, 1907, at Brasher Falls, son of Elmer and Rose Shatraw Lashomb.  He married Rose McIntyre of Fort William, Ont., on Nov. 18, 1929, at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the late Rev. John A. Cotter officiating.  Mr. Lashomb was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral parish and of the Civil Service Employees' Association.

Obituary:  The Journal (Ogdensburg, NY), Thursday, 22 January 1976:  Mrs. Rose McIntyre Lashomb, 65, widow of George P. Lashomb, of 908 Mechanic St., city, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 21, 1976) at Hepburn Hospital, where she had been a patient since Saturday.  She had been in failing health for the past year.  The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the McLellan Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home are afternoons and evenings today and Friday.  If friends so desire, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Ogdensburg Rescue Squad.  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Dolores) Girard and Mrs. Lawrence (Rose Anne) Dominie, both of this city; three sons, G. Edward and Robert C., both of this city, and Donald M. of Rochester; her father, Edward McIntyre of Thunder Bay, Ont.; three sisters, Mrs. Anne Hoysted and Mrs. David (Lucy) Ure, both of Thunder Bay, and Miss Lena McIntyre of Toronto, Ont.; a brother, Edward McIntyre, Edmonton, Alberta; 22 grandchildren; one aunt, Mrs. Richard (Rose) Taylor, city; and nieces, nephews and cousins.  Mrs. Lashomb was born Jan. 3, 1911, at Ballynon, Ireland, daughter of Edward and Margaret Boyle McIntyre.  The family moved to Thunder Bay, Ont., Canada, when she was seven years old.  At the age of 17 years, she came to Ogdensburg, where she became employed at the St. Lawrence State Hospital.  She and Mr. Lashomb of this city, who was a cook at the State Hospital, were married Nov. 18, 1929, at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the now late Rev. John A. Cotter, officiating.  Mr. Lashomb died April 8, 1969.  Mrs. Lashomb was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Parish and the Rosary and Sacred Heart societies of the parish.

George Edward Lashomb:  LaRue & Pitcher Funeral Home (Ogdensburg, NY):  G. Edward “Ed” Lashomb, 90, of Ogdensburg died on Friday, April 2, 2021, at the Upstate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.  G. Edward Lashomb was born on January 29, 1931 in Fort William, Ontario, Canada.  He was the son of the late George P. and Rose (McIntyre) Lashomb.  He was a 1949 graduate of St. Mary's Academy and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1949 to 1952.  On September 11, 1952, he married Phyllis Jean Miller at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart Church in Washington D.C. with the Reverend R. Paul Repetti officiating.  Phyllis died on August 10, 1998.  On December 27, 2001, he married Elizabeth Farley in Hawaii.  Edward worked as a Postal Clerk for the United States Postal Service until his retirement.  He was also a receptionist at the Diocese of Ogdensburg, a transporter for the McLellan Funeral Home, a photographer with Betty Steele, a realtor, bar tender at the Granview, night watchman for the building of the bridge to Canada, custodian for Bishop Conroy School and St. Mary's Academy and was also employed at Alcoa in Massena.  Edward was a parishioner of St. Mary's Cathedral, a member of the Cathedral Choir, the Nocturnal Adoration Society, a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the New Jerusalem Prayer Group, a leader in the Cursillo and a Religious Education Catechist.  Edward was awarded a distinguished honor award for saving St. Mary's Academy from a destructive fire and getting everyone out of the building.  Ed was also a member of the St. Lawrence Carver's Club in Morristown.  He enjoyed wood carving, painting sceneries and photography.  Edward is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Lashomb, a resident of St. Joseph's Home; his children, Celina Rose (Sam) Burns of Ogdensburg, Edward Paul (Mary Louise) Lashomb of Watertown, Peter Alexander (Tina) Lashomb of Ogdensburg, Mary Christine (Mark) Wademan, and Lucy Ann (Glenn) Braddock of South Carolina.  He is survived by his sisters, Roseanne Dominie and her husband Larry of Florida and Dolores Girard of Ogdensburg; and his brother, Robert "Bub" (Cindy) Lashomb of Florida.  Twenty nine grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren survive him as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.  A special cousin, Sister Mary Christine Taylor SSJ, also survives him.  He is also survived by his four step-children, Kathy Farley of Hawaii, Kim (Dave) Hollis, Maureen (Kevin) Manke, and Kevin Farley; and eight step-grandchildren.  Edward was predeceased by his first wife, Phyllis Jean Miller Lashomb; their son, Joseph Edward Lashomb; and his brother, Donald "Bucky"Lashomb; and his brother-in-law, Robert Girard.  Edward enjoyed living his Catholic Faith and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Edward was a wonderful Father and Grandfather and a real witness to the love of God and how to live your faith.  He will be missed especially by his grandchildren, whom they revered as Papa, who he loved and prayed for them every day.  Entombment in Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg, NY.

Dolores Margaret Lashomb:   Frary Funeral Home (Ogdensburg, NY):  Dolores Margaret Girard, age 86, of Mechanic Street, Ogdensburg, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, at her home in Ogdensburg, surrounded by her family and beloved dog, Abbie.  Dolores is survived by her six children; two siblings and their spouses; her ten grandchildren; and her eleven great-grandchildren.  Dolores was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Robert Girard, Sr.; her parents, George and Rose (McIntyre) Lashomb, and two brothers, Donald (Bucky) Lashombe and Edward Lashomb.  Dolores was born on August 22, 1935 in Ogdensburg, NY, the daughter of George and Rose (McIntyre) Lashomb.  She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1953.  Dolores married Robert Girard on September 21, 1953.  She spent her time raising her five children and running the business, Girard's Wholesale Foods, alongside her husband till retirement in 1995.  She loved playing bingo, watching Hallmark movies, spending time with her family and her dog, Abbie.  Interment in Foxwood Memorial Park.

 

Donald McIntyre Lashombe:  Waco, Texas - Funeral services for Donald 'Bucky' Lashomb, 55, 51 Sugar Creek, Waco, Texas, will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Jerome's Church in Waco.  Arrangements are with the Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home in Waco.  Mr. Lashomb died at his home Wednesday afternoon (June 23, 1993) of cancer.  He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lashomb; three daughters, Shari Jablonowski of Clifton, Texas, Karen Lashomb of Waco, Texas and Michelle Wilson of St. Cloud, Fla.; two sons, Michael Lashomb of Waco and Timothy Lashomb of Weatherford, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Dolores) Girard and Mrs. Lawrence (Rose Anne) Dominie, both of Ogdensburg; two brothers, Edward and Robert Lashomb, both of Ogdensburg; and three grandchildren.  Born in Ogdensburg on March 13, 1938 Mr. Lashomb graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1957.  He was married to Nancy Jarvis on Nov. 30, 1963.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and worked as a computer salesman for CompuAdd Corporation.
