Livaudais Joseph Pitre:  New Orleans States (New Orleans, LA), Thursday, 2 September 1937:  Poison Food finds another victim among fishermen - The death yesterday in Charity hospital of Livaudais Pitre, Cut Off fisherman, resulted from food poisoning, Dr. C. Grenes Cole, coroner, said today after an autopsy.  Pitre, it was learned, became ill after eating oyster soup and stuffed crab Tuesday while aboard his boat in Bayou Lafourche.  His condition grew worse, necessitating his immediate removal to the hospital yesterday morning.  The same meal was consumed by others aboard the boat but none became ill, the coroner was told.

- Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Friday, 3 September 1937:  Pitre - On Wednesday, September 1, 1937, at 9 o'clock p.m., Leavodis Pitre, aged 49 years, beloved husband of Elvire Pierce, son of Leavodis Pitre and Naise Malcomb.  Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 3, 1937, at 9 o'clock a.m. at the Cut Off Catholic church.  Interment in the Cut Off cemetery.  Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland, La., in charge.

 

Henry 'Hennessee' Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), 7 July 1971:  Hennessey F. Pitre, at Galliano, La., on Tuesday, July 6, 1971, at 3:30 o'clock p.m.; beloved husband of Louise Remont; father of Mrs. Abdon Chouest; brother of Mrs. Marie P. Callais and the late Levodis and Ludovic Pitre; survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; age 79 years; a native of Cheniere Caminada and a resident of Cut Off, La.  Relatives and friends of the family, also officers and members of Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart Parish, Cut Off, La., are invited to attend the funeral.  Services from Falgout Funeral Homes Inc., Galliano, La., on Thursday, July 8, 1971, at 9:30 o'clock a.m.  Religious services at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cut Off, La., at 10 a.m.  Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, Cut Off, La.  Falgout Funeral Homes Inc., Galliano, La., in charge.  Friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
