from Falgout Funeral Home with services that followed 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Cut Off. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Abdon (Rita) Schouest; one brother,
Alceed Ramont; two sisters, Usula Ramont and Elva Ramont Leonard;
three grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved
husband, Hennesey Pitre; one brother Theophile Ramont; and one
sister, Alice Ramont.

Rita Pitre: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 6 June 2001: Rita Pitre Chouest, age 85, a native and resident of Cut Off, died from complications of pneumonia at 2:15 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. Mass will be at noon Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Cheramie and husband, Douglas, Louise Dykes and Adele King; five grandchildren, Doug Cheramie II, Ethan Cheramie, Gabriel King, Rebecca King and Trey Dykes; and three great-grandchildren, Caroline King, Jackson Cheramie and Annabelle Cheramie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abdon Chouest; and her parents, Hennessey and Louise Remont Pitre. She was a volunteer at Our Lady of the Sea Hospital and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
