Obituary: Evening Express (Portland, ME), Tuesday, 13 July 1937: The funeral for Dominic Peters, 50, also known as Thomas Peters, who died suddenly Monday, will be held from his home, 25 Saco Street, Westbrook, at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. Requiem high mass will be sung at 8 a.m. in St. Hyacinthe Church. Interment will be in St. Hyacinthe Cemetery. A carpenter by trade, Mr. Peters had lived in Westbrook 17 years. He was a native of Prince Edward Island, son of Joseph and Katherine Buotte Peters. Surviving are his wife, Minnie Digou Peters; five children, Percy, Henry, Raymond, Ernest and Marguerite, all of Westbrook; two sisters, Mrs. John Gallant and Mrs. Benjamin Bourgeois, and four brothers, Jerome, Henry, Augustin and Cecil Peters.

Obituary: Portland Press Herald (ME), Wednesday, 18 January 1956: Westbrook, Jan. 17 - Mrs. Minnie Digout Peters, 72, widow of Thomas Peters, died today in South Portland after a long illness. Mrs. Peters was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Nov. 12, 1883, daughter of Joseph Digout. A communicant of St. Hyacinth Church, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Neil Keene, South Portland; four sons, Percy, Westbrook, Henry, South Windham, Raymond, Portland, and Ernest, U.S. Navy; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be Friday at 8:15 a.m. from 8 Pleasant St., with a Solemn High Mass of Requiem at St. Hyacinth Church at 9 a.m. Interment will be in St. Hyacinth Cemetery.

Surviving are two daughters, Helen K. Hughes of Scarborough and Janet R. Martelle of Bremerton, Wash.; two brothers, Raymond Peters of South Portland and Ernest Peters of Vancouver, Wash.; three grandchildren and two great=grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hobbs Funeral Home, South Portland. Spring burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Portland.

Peters, 74, formerly of 425 Broadway died Sunday at a local nursing home after a long illness. He was born in Westbrook, a son of Thomas and Minnie Degou Peters, and attended Westbrook schools. During World War II, Mr. Peters served with the Army in the Philippines. For more than 30 years he was employed by Governor Baxter School for the Deaf, and the Sportsman's Grill in Portland. He retired in 1987. Mr. Peters was a communicant of Holy Cross Church. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Bertha Demers Peters; three daughters, Judith A. Thibeault of Coral Springs, Fla., Patricia E. Peters of Westbrook and Andrea M. Bartnick of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; four sons, Thomas C., R. Scott and Russell E., all of Portland, and Richard L. of South Portland; a brother, Ernest of Oregon; and 10 grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Church. Arrangements by Conroy-Tully South Portland Chapel.
