Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Wednesday, 3 August 1960:  Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. today for Damon Pitre, 70, retired farmer, who died Tuesday morning at a Lafayette hospital.  Services were held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.  Burial was in the Catholic cemetery at Prairie Ronde with Lafond and Son Funeral Home in charge.  Pitre is survived by his wife, the former Felicie Vige of Opelousas; one son, Nelson Pitre of Lawtell; four brothers, Vellie and Issim Pitre of Lawtell, Clifford Pitre of Ville Platte and Simon Pitre of Plaisance; two sisters, Mrs. P. Vasseaur of Opelousas and Mrs. Elesia Latiolais of Lawtell; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Wednesday, 7 March 1984:  Funeral services for Mrs. Felicia Guidroz, 84, are incomplete at this time, but will be held Thursday in St. Landry Catholic Church here with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery of Prairie Ronde.  Mrs. Guidroz, a resident of Opelousas, died at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday in Opelousas General Hospital.  Survivors include her husband, Clement Guidroz of Opelousas; a son, Nelson Pitre of Lawtell; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.

John Nelson Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Wednesday, 21 December 1994:  Funeral services for Mr. Nelson Pitre, 76, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home Chapel on the Old Sunset Road in Opelousas with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.  The Rev. Gary Schexnayder will conduct the services.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Lafayette, formerly of Prairie Ronde, died at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, in the Medical Center of Southwest Louisiana in Lafayette.  He was a retired farmer and St. Landry Parish School Board member.  Survivors include: his wife, Emelina Smith Pitre of Lafayette; two sons, Alton Pitre of Broussard and Rayland Pitre of Dayton, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Birdie) Jacob of New Orleans and Mrs. Russell (Sherry) Courville of Lafayette; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.  Visiting hours are from 4-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Thursday until time of services.  A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m.  Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on the Old Sunset Road in Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.
