The Rev. James L. Stovall officiated, and burial was in St. Louis cemetery near here. He is survived by his widow; two sons, Edgar Pitre, Jr., Eunice, and John Ward Pitre, Los Angeles, and three daughters, Mrs. Frank Best, Sr., Mrs. A.F. McBride and Miss Abbie Pitre, all of Eunice.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the First Methodist Church with burial in the St. Louis Cemetery. Ardoin's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Surviving are two sons, John Ward Pitre and Edgar Pitre Jr., both of Eunice; three daughters, Mrs. A. F. McBride, Miss Abbie Pitre and Mrs. Frank Best Sr., all of Eunice; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
