- Joseph Faustin Bourg, age 11, left France with his family on 12 August 1785 on La Ville d'Archangel and arrived in N.O. on 3 December 1785. The family at first settled in Pointe Coupee. Joseph married Felicite Canade in 1800 in Assumption parish. She was about 16 and probably Canade was originally Kennedy and her parents Irish immigrants. They moved over to Ascension after a few years and then back again to Assumption where they were listed in the 1810 Lafourche census.
