Notes for Joseph Aucoin:
- Joseph Aucoin and 1st wife Anne Blanchard had three children. All died at sea during the crossing to France, except Joseph and daughter Radegonde who arrived at St. Malo on 23 January 1759 from one of the "Five Ships". Radegonde died in April, Joseph moved on to Ploubalay where he married Anne Hebert. They lived in Ploubalay, then moved on to Tremereuc in 1763. They left France on La Ville d'Archangel on 12 August 1785 and arrived in LA on 3 December 1785, listed as Joseph Aucoin 64, Anne Hebert 48, Anne 21, Francois 15, Gabriel 13, Marie Magdelaine 11, Francoise 8 and Jacinte born 6 April 1785. Joseph received one knife, one large knife, two hatchets, 3 axes, 3 shovels, and four hoes. The family originally settled in Pointe Coupee. By 1795, widowed Anne had moved to Bayou Lafourche.
