Notes for Guillaume Trahan:

- Guillaume and first wife Francoise lived at Verron, then Bourgeuil before immigrating to Acadia on 1 April 1636.  They came on the St. Jehan.  Guillaume was listed as ‘marechal de tranchant’ with his wife and 2 children and a manservant.  He was a blacksmith or toolsmith and an important citizen of Port Royal, a citizen of good repute.  In 1640, d'Aulnay gave him the task, jointly with Germain Doucet and Isaac Pesseley, to inquire into the acts of Charles de la Tour.  On 16 August 1654, as trustee for the inhabitants, he signed the act of capitulation of Port Royal.

- 1671 Acadian census (Port Royal):  Guillaume Trahan about 60, Magdeleine Brun 25, Guillaume 4, Jehan-Charles 3, Alexandre 1; 8 cattle, 10 sheep, 5 arpents.

- 1686 Port Royal: Magdelaine Brun 45 (widow), Guillaume 20, Jean 20, Alexandre 16,  and 3 daughters; and by her second husband Susanne Rivierre 5 months; 1 gun, 2  arpents, 7 cattle, 3 sheep.
