Wife Adele Marie Adeline Vicknair was born 22 February 1813 in Edgard, St. John, LA (baptism: 28 March 1813 Edgard, St. John, LA), and died Bet. 1870-1877 in Louisiana.  They were married 1 May 1832 at Edgard, St. John, LA.

- Obituary:  Times Picayune (N.O., LA), Thursday, 31 January 1929:  Mrs. Eugenie Vicknair Dionne died at the home of her son, Ernest Dionne, 2651 Kenilworth street, Wednesday afternoon.  She was 91 years old.  Mrs. Dionne was the widow of the late George Dionne, prominent cotton planter of Enterprise, La., who died a quarter century age.  She was a native of St. John's parish but had lived in New Orleans ever since the death of her husband.  She had been in poor health for a decade.  A daughter, Miss Olga Dionne, and her son, who is in the real estate business, survive.  The funeral will be held Friday morning at the McMahon funeral home, 4800 Canal street, at 10 o'clock.  Burial will be in Metairie cemetery.

Valery Vicknair, ci-devant de St-Jean-Baptiste et residant actuellement a 4 milles au-dessus de Thibodauxville, a eu dans une chute, le 25 octobre, la jambe prise sous son cheval et cassee en deux endroits.  Les docteurs H. et P. Obituary:  La sentinelle de Thibodaux, Saturday, 3 March 1883:  Vicknair - Decede mardi matin, 27 fevrier, a l'heure, Valery Vicknair, age de 72 ans.  L'Abeille de la Nlle-Orleans et les journaux des paroisses St. Jacques et St. Jean Baptiste sout pries de reproduire.

La sentinelle de Thibodaux, Saturday, 3 March 1883:  The venerable Valery Vicknair, residing about five miles above Thibodaux, died on last Tuesday morning and was interred in St. Joseph's cemetery on February 28th.  Thus has passed away, at the age of 72 years, another of the old and respected landmarks of Lafourche.
