Jean Hebert was born Abt. 1681 at Port Royal, Acadia, and died Aft. 1734 in Cobequit, Acadia.

 

First wife Marie Marguerite Landry was born 4 September 1682 at Beaubassin, Acadia (baptism: 25 June 1684 Mines), and died Bef. 27 April 1734 at Cobequit, Acadia.  They were married Abt. 1701 in Acadia.

- 1752 Ile St. Jean census: Joseph Dugas, ploughman, native of l'Acadie, aged 50 years, and has been 15 months in the country. Married to Anne Marie Hebert, native of l'Acadie, aged 50 years. They have two sons and four daughters: Joseph Dugas, aged 10 years, Jean, aged 8 years, Margueritte, aged 18 years, Francoise, aged 13 years, Anne, aged 5 years.  Their live stock consists of the following: five oxen, three cows, seven wethers, three ewes, four pigs, and five fowls.  The land upon which they are settled is situated east of the Rivière de la Grande Ascension, it was given to them verbally by Monsieur de Bonnaventure. On it, they have made a clearing for the sowing of two bushels of wheat during the coming spring.
