Jean Christophe Delaune was born 30 November 1743 at St. Pierre du Nord, Ile St. Jean (baptism: 1 December 1743 Ile St. Jean), and died Aft. 1797 in Louisiana.

 

Wife Marianne Part was born Abt. 1750 in Acadia, and died Aft. 1797 in Louisiana.  They were married 18 February 1773 at Tres Ste. Trinite, Cherbourg, France.

Notes for Jean Christophe Delaune:

- Jean, Marianne and son Jean were in the First Convoy leaving Chatellerault for Nantes on 24 October 1775.  Jean Delaune 48, wife Marianne Part 34, son Pierre 7 and daughter Marie Celeste infant arrived in LA on La Caroline (19 October 1785 - 17 December 1785), having missed L’Amitie which sailed on 20th August.  Jean received one each of axe, hatchet, shovel, knife, and meat cleaver and two hoes.  They had been transported from France at the expense of the Spanish government who controlled the territory of LA at that time.  A disastrous flood occurred along the Mississippi River prior to July 1788 destroying the Acadian settlers' crops.  The Spanish government authorized distributions of food to the inhabitants of Baton Rouge, Manchac, and Cabanoce (St. James).  These distributions were made monthly from September 1788 to August 1789.  At Cabanoce on the 30th of September 1788 the family of "Juan Delaune", 5 persons, were given 7 1/2 barrels of corn worth 9 pesos and 3 reales of silver and the family of his brother  "Christoval Delaune", 5 persons, were given 7 1/2 barrels of corn worth 9 pesos and 2 reales of silver.
