- At the annual town meeting (Wyndham) in 1760 Abner Harris was chosen to be one of the highway surveyors.

Will:  Cheshire, NH:  In the Name of God Amen this 4th day of September 1789, The last Will and Testament of me Abner Harris of Chesterfield in the state of Vermont - Being sound of mind although advanced in years and calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed untall men once to die do hereby in the First place recommend my soul to God that gave it and my body to the dust to be buryed in a Christian manner: and as it has pleased God in his providence to bless my weak endeavours so far as to afford me a comfortable support in this life I hereby dispense my affairs and interest as follows - viz. to make and ordain my son Abner Harris my sole executor of this my will and testament and also dispense of my interest and effects in the following manner and I do herein the first place give and bequeath to Deborah my loving wife one third part of all my moveable estate and to John Harris my 2nd son I do hereby give him six shillings in full of his part and portion of my estate with what consideration said John has already received then after executors charges paid the remains of my estate to be equally divided betwixt my children allowing what each one hath received to count according to the value and merrit as for much of his part of portion. Namely Abner Harris, Thomas Harris, Perley Harris; the daughters namely Elizabeth, Experience, Ester, Tamar: Deborah: Sarah: Lidia & Marcy:abl daughter of mine as may appear by attest copies of record and I do said declare this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all former will or wills.  In witness whereof have here unto set my hand seal the day and date above said signed and sealed and delivered.  Abner Harris.  In presence of Daniel Gould, Eleazer Jackson, Sam Fairbank
