Wife Sarah Morley was baptized 10 October 1736 in Alton, Staffordshire, England, and died 29 June 1808 in Winster, Derbyshire.  Burial was 29 June 1808 in Winster, Derbyshire.  They were married 13 October 1760 in Alton, Staffordshire.

Ward Curate of Alton.  In the presence of Richard Cope & Thos. Alkins

- Derby Mercury, Friday, 6 June 1777:  To be Sold by Private Contract - A good accustomed Public House, situate in Allstonefield, in the County of Stafford, known by the Name of the King's-Head, now in the Possession of Mr. Francis Brittlebank, at the clear yearly Rent of six pounds.  There is a good stable, garden, and back side adjoining the above Premises; with a shop, very convenient for carrying on the Grocery Business.  For further particulars enquire of James Fern, or Mr. William Smith, both of Allstonefield aforesaid; who will show the premises and treat for the same.
